Astro-Update! New Moon in Cancer! Week of 7/15/12-7/21/12

You may have heard a lot about the Uranus/Pluto square. It will be the most intense on June 24th and September 19th of 2012. However, this jarring astrological transit will be in the background throughout all of 2012-2015.  The last time Uranus/Pluto formed a troubling square was in the early 1930s around the time of the Great Depression and when Hitler was at the height of his power. These are certainly interesting times that we live in!  Please feel free to watch my astrological video to learn more!

Coming Up: Mercury turns Direct in Leo on 8/8/12!

Keep in mind while you read this Blog that I include the time that a transit will be exact so that you can see when it waxes and then when it starts to wane.  The effects of a transit are often felt as long as a day or two (or even longer).  The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after.  It’s important to remember that Moon transits tend to last a shorter period of time than planetary transits.  I will no longer be including every transit that occurs, but rather highlighting the most dominant transit (to make the Blog a little easier to read, in response to reader feedback!).

(Sunday 7/15/12)-  The majority of astrological activity will take place earlier in the day. On Saturday night going into Sunday there will be a slight feeling of oppression when the Sun forms a difficult square with Saturn. This will lighten slightly as the day progresses when the Moon makes several positive aspects with Uranus, Mercury, and Venus.

Just after midnight, the Sun in Cancer will form an uncomfortable square with Saturn in Libra (exact at 12:14am EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  Saturn’s nickname is the “task master”.  People may be in a more serious mood around this time.  This can be a time of pessimism, feeling “the blues”, or even loneliness.  Try to avoid being overly critical and hard on yourself (or others).  It is also possible to clash with someone older than yourself (especially father figures or someone in authority).  Remember, that Saturn rules over falls….so be careful!  Hopefully, you won’t have a lot to do today….if at all possible, try to take it easy and relax!  Next, the Moon in Gemini will form a positive sextile with Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 1:43am EST) helping us to break out of our rut and even do something that may be somewhat unconventional.  Technology (like computers), inventing, New Aged ideologies, and friendships are favored around this transit. This could cause disturbed dreams and/or sleep (possibly inspirational or vivid dreams).  Then, the Moon in Gemini will form a positive sextile to Mercury (R) in Leo (exact at 9:46am EST).  This will make us want to reach out to friends and family to chat.  This transit helps with the flow of communication.  It will be easier to express how we feel around this transit.  Next, the Moon will conjunct Venus both in Gemini (exact at 10:30am EST).  We will want to experience love on a visceral level.  This is a great time to: pamper ourselves, decorate, shop (because we will have an “eye” for things that look good), artistic endeavors, creativity, and be in the company of loved ones.  Sometimes this transit can have us feeling a little indolent; it is actually a favored time for finances.  The remainder of the day will be under the influence of the Gemini Moon….

(Monday 7/16/12)-  There will only be two astrological transits early in the day!  This is a good time to remind you that Moon transits are shorter in duration than planetary transits.  The Sun in Cancer will form a slightly uncomfortable sesquisquare with Chiron (R) in Pisces (exact at 4:43am EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  Did something come up recently that made you start thinking about that situation all over again?  Living in the past is so time consuming and can be painful.  Try not to   let your ego get in the way, and allow the healing to begin!  Then, the Moon in Gemini will make a flowing trine to Saturn in Libra (exact at 6:56am EST).  This is a great time for organization, house cleaning, filing, recycling, and being disciplined.  This is also beneficial for starting a diet or health regimen (like quitting smoking).  Sometimes others will ask for help around this transit, but it won’t be burdensome, we will be happy to assist!  This will start a long 13+ hour void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into the sensitive sign of Cancer later tonight.  When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet, before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”.  It is best to not do anything new during these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have delays.

Our sensitivity will increase this evening when the Moon will transition into Cancer (exact at 8:31pm EST). Good Cancer Moon activities are: anything to do with home and family, cooking, maternal/mothering, being emotional, crafts, sensitivity, empathy, finances, savings, and care-taking.  Things to avoid are: holding grudges, feeling slighted (possibly with little or no cause), over sensitivity, emotional eating, stubbornness, and being grumpy.  All of these themes will be highlighted over the next 2 ½ days.

(Tuesday 7/17/12)-  I will be doing Astrological Readings at Spirit Dancer today between 3:00-6:00pm (I take my last reading at 5:30pm).  This is a great opportunity to get an introductory reading from me at a discount-$30 ½ hr.  They are located at 125 S. Winooski Ave in Burlington, VT (across from the fire station).  Walk-ins are welcome or you can call me for a time.  The store’s number is 802-660-8060.

The Moon is still residing in the sign of Cancer today, increasing our sensitivity. However, Mars will be forming a positive trine with Jupiter and the negative square to Pluto; this is not a time for sensitivity.  Yes, both Mars and Jupiter are  now involved in the Cardinal T-Square or “Cardinal Climax’ as it is being referred to by some astrologers.  This is a complex astrological pattern between Uranus/ Saturn/Pluto that will occur from 2010-2015. (To learn more please watch my YouTube video above ).  As you may know, in mythology, Mars is associated with being the God of War.  Action, aggression, adventure, inflammation, combativeness, competition, speed, are all Mars traits. While this could be a great time to get things done, we could go overboard and find ourselves pushing our own agenda regardless of somebody else's feelings.  Although everyone will experience this, people born under the sign of Aries, Libra, Gemini and Capricorn will certainly feel it more strongly.

In the morning, Mars in Libra will form a beautiful flowing trine to optimistic Jupiter in Gemini (exact at 8:38am EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  Physical energy should be high today.  This is a beneficial transit for any type of physical activity, exercise, physical therapy, and (especially) group sports.  This is a day for action!  This transit will also be favorable for career endeavors involving sales, law or legal issues, international dealings, organized religion, entrepreneurial endeavors, planning to further one’s education, humanitarian efforts, and possibly speculative endeavors.  Relations with friend, siblings & groups of people will go smoothly.  Be on the lookout for opportunity today!

Then in the late afternoon, Mars in Libra will form an uncomfortable square with Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 4:26pm EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  So what happens when the God of War forms an uncomfortable liaison with the Lord of the Underworld?  Keep things light!  Outside influences could affect you and you may need to change your position or how you react to it.  Adjustment (on your part) may be needed to come out on the winning end of the situation.  Anger or aggression may be prevalent around this time (remember what I always say about Mars energy?).  Now is not the time for big actions or reactions.  Keep it subdued (if possible).  Try to keep things positive….just remember that Pluto is the great transformer.  And this energy will continue tomorrow……..

(Wednesday 7/18/12)-  Again, we have a very intense astrological day. Continuing on from yesterday, are two more planetary transits that are not necessarily what I would call easy. This is certainly a time-frame for which we could hear of an increase in fires, explosions, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions or other natural disasters. Around this time there's going to be a great deal of energy at our disposal, which could verge on being aggressive. Just remember that you don't always need to have a bullish approach in order to get your way.  It starts when Jupiter in Gemini will form an annoying quincunx with Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 5:56am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  (The effect of this may be felt up to a week.)  Power in beliefs!  However people may not be agreeing with you around this time. In fact, the stronger the opinion; the stronger the opposition. There can be a lot of power in words right now.  This is not a favorable time for law/legal matters, foreign affairs, or travel.  This is a good time to ask yourself…What are my beliefs?  Am I open minded?  Did I base my opinions on what someone else said/wrote?  Is there another way to look at my position?  Of course, the downside to all of this is that we could encounter fanatical beliefs, opinions, or religious convictions around this time.  As with all Pluto transits, great transformation can take place…so harness this energy for the positive!

Much later in the evening, Mars in Libra will form a stressful opposition with transiting Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 10:55pm EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  Mars is energy and Uranus represents sudden shake-ups.  Time to expect the unexpected!  If you are normally impulsive, then a steady approach is best during this time.  If you are normally sedate or in a rut, then use innovation to jolt yourself out of it.  This can be a great time for innovation and sudden breakthroughs just make sure to think things through before you act.  As with any Mars transit physical activity is favored (to assist in positively channeling the extra energy).  Those prone to nervous conditions, insomnia, electrical conditions of the body, and anxiety may have difficulty around this transit.  Be very careful driving today as people will not be very patient and maybe driving more aggressively than normal.  We may also hear of fires, war, explosions, protests, or accidents around this time.

(Thursday 7/19/12)-  We will still be experiencing the effects of the last two day’s strong astrological energy. However, today may be a little lighter due to the fact that there will be a New Moon in Cancer. New Moons are a great time for doing new things. Just keep in mind that there are still five planets that are currently in Retrograde cycle (including Mercury). I won't be covering all of the Lunar transits that will be occurring today, but just know that the Moon will be highlighting all of the planets that were involved in the transits from the last two days. I am hoping that the psychic atmosphere will change after the Moon transitions into Leo.

Just after midnight, we will experience the height of the New Moon in Cancer (exact at 12:24am EST).  The New Moon is considered to be a highly auspicious time for starting new things, new ideas, new projects, and manifesting.  All of Cancer Moon themes will be highlighted/amplified.  I personally, like to do space clearing and meditating around this time.  The New Moon is always accompanied by a conjunction with the Sun (also in Cancer).  This usually makes us feel connected & supported by loved ones.  It’s easier to talk about our emotions during this transit.  Since Cancerian energy is going to be prominent, it is a good time to take a walk down memory lane (Cancers love to reminisce about the good old days).  Unfortunately, this also means that they can really hold onto a grudge, so try to let go of unhealthy patterns (keep it positive).  Maybe reorganize family photos and certainly take time to honor/remember our ancestors.  Finances may also be affected around this time.  Home, domestic, and maternal relationships will be highlighted.  Cancer also rules the stomach area.  It would be a good time to eat fish, violet colored foods (like grapes), and greens.  Try to avoid yeast (like breads and sorry, beer).  Cancers usually love to cook (and eat) so go ahead and have that BBQ!  Herbs/flowers/scents that are favored are jasmine, magnolia, chamomile, lemon, rose, and carnation.  Lastly, take time to honor nature and its cycles by getting outside or bring in some fresh cut flowers.  This is a good time to write down your monthly goals as well.  It depends what area of your chart that the Cancer/Sun/Moon falls in as to how it will affect you.  This will be the start of a 5+ hour long void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon will transition into the sign of dramatic Leo (exact at 6:13am EST).   Good activities to do when the Moon is in Leo are: anything to do with performing or theater, seeing a show, dressing up & looking nice, managing, feeling proud, entrepreneurial endeavors, gambling, playing games, routing for the underdog and taking care of children.  Things to avoid are being too bossy, acting egotistical, and going over the top.  All of these themes will be highlighted over the next 2 ½ days.

In the late evening, Mars in Libra will form an annoying quincunx with (the Wounded Healer) Chiron in Pisces (R) (exact at 11:08pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  This will be certain to bring up old wounds and memories and our 1st emotion may be anger.  However, Mars provides us with the tools to act and make things better.  It would be best to face these situations directly (yet with tact) and just deal with them once and for all.  The rewards will outweigh any uncertainty.

(Friday 7/20/12)-  Overnight, the Moon will conjunct Mercury (R) both in Leo (exact at 3:34am EST) assisting with communication, short distance travel and feeling supported by others.  It will be very easy to express feelings and emotions around this time.  This is a great time to write (like journaling) or to express emotions. In the late morning, the Moon in Leo will form a positive sextile with Venus in Gemini (exact at 11:51am EST).  It is likely that we could receive compliments on how we look or dress.  It will be easy to interact with others.  This transit is positive for both relationships/love and finances.

Later in the evening, Jupiter in Gemini will form a slightly uncomfortable sesquisquare with Saturn in Libra (exact at 10:05pm EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  (The effects of this transit may last as long as a week or more.)  These are the two giants of our solar system, and they aren’t on the same page right now.  This is also a big planetary event that is tying into the larger “Cardinal Climax”, which also involves the Saturn/Uranus opposition, the Saturn/Pluto square, and the Uranus/Pluto square.  Expansion and contraction!  Optimism and pessimism!  Radical and traditional!  Feel like you are being pulled in two directions?  You are not alone!  Jupiter is optimism and the future and Saturn is the past, foundations, & long term goals.  We may hear about issues pertaining to banking/finance, housing/construction, foreign affairs/policies, justice/law, teaching and education around this time (more than the usual).  It will be difficult to do goal setting right now or to have forward motion.  Use positive thinking and keep a smile on your face if a few speed bumps appear right now.  Any delays may be fortuitous.  Keep your sights set on the larger picture (Jupiter) but Saturn will remind you not to forget the details either.

(Saturday 7/21/12)-  Today will consist entirely of Moon transits. This is a good time to remind you that Moon transits are shorter in duration than planetary transits. Overnight, the Moon in Leo will form a positive sextile to Saturn in Libra (exact at 1:17am EST).  Time to tap into our inner discipline, goal setting, organization and attention to details.  We may want to make long term plans in our close relationships.  This will be the start of a long 12+ hour void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into Virgo this afternoon.

In the afternoon, the Moon transitions into service-oriented Virgo (exact at 1:24pm EST).  Good Virgo Moon activities are: organization, being detail-oriented, service to others, health improvement, intellectual pursuits, practicality, research, and really anything that requires precision.  Things to avoid are: being overly perfectionistic, excessive worry, analysis paralysis, criticism, and being too caught up in the details that we can’t see the forest through the trees.  All of these themes will be prominent in the next 2 1/2 days.  Later in the day, the  Moon in Virgo will form its monthly opposition with Neptune (R) in Pisces (exact at 6:05pm EST) causing our imagination/creativity to soar.  I wouldn’t make a big decision around this time.  Especially since this will also enhance escapism (people with drug or alcohol issues will have trouble around this transit).

Mark your calendars! On Sunday (7/22) the Sun will transition into dramatic Leo!

The above transits are often felt collectively but you would need to know where within your chart that they would fall.  As always, I am available for a professional astrological reading.  I now have a variety of charts to choose from (relationship, life path, time-line, etc).  I can do readings in-person, Skype, or over the phone.  Or if you’re not into having a reading, I can just supply a chart.  Please feel free to contact me for more information!  Have a great week!  Bye for now……

Astro-Updates! Saturn Uranus Opposition! Week of 7/25/10

I hope this week’s blog entry finds you well! This week will be astrologically busy and somewhat intense. On Sunday, Jupiter will square Pluto and the Full Moon in Aquarius will take place. Jupiter is now involved in the Cardinal T-Square. Monday will be the last time that Saturn & Uranus oppose each other for 45 years (plus a multitude of other planetary transits). Mercury will move into Virgo on Tuesday helping us to pay attention to details. On Thursday Mars will move into Libra, then Mars will go onto highlight the Saturn/Uranus opposition on Fri/Sat. Careful how you move around on these days, there could be an increase in accidents. If you have been feeling stressed or overwhelmed, there is good reason. Last week, this week, and next week will be the most astrologically active weeks in 2010. Take heart, it will get better!

I wanted to add a footnote to my entries. I include the time that a transit will be exact so that you can see when it waxes and then when it starts to wane. However, the effects are often felt sometimes even as long as a day or two. The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after. Keep in mind that Moon transits tend to last a shorter period of time than planetary transits.

(Sunday 7/25/10)- Because I have been away for vacation, I am writing this Blog entry Sun-Sun. Just after midnight, Jupiter (R) in Aries will form a uncomfortable square with Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 12:20am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. (The effect of this may be felt up to two weeks.) Yes, Jupiter is now involved in the Cardinal T-Square or “Cardinal Climax’ as it is being referred to by some astrologers. This is a complex astrological pattern between Uranus/ Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto that will occur from 2010-2015…and Mars will be temporarily getting into the mix at the end of the week. Power in beliefs! Now is the time to have faith and inspire others. There can be a lot of power in words…especially if you are selling something. Be honest in your dealings, otherwise you may get “called out”. This is not a good time for underhanded tactics. Then, the Moon in Capricorn will form an annoying quincunx to Mercury in Leo (exact at 9:06am EST) possibly causing blocks in communication. It may be nearly impossible to express ourselves. You ever had a time that you couldn’t put your thoughts into words? Next, the Moon in Capricorn forms a flowing trine with Mars in Leo (exact at 10:20am EST). Our actions will be in harmony with how we feel. We may crave action around this time or have more energy. People will be inclined to fight for what they believe is right. This will also start a 5+ hour void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into unique Aquarius. When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet, before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”. It is best to not do anything new during these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have delays.

In the afternoon, the Moon changes into unique Aquarius (exact at 3:38pm EST). Activities that are favored during Moon in Aquarius are: social endeavors, friendship, technology, humanitarian efforts, politics, inventing, and New Age ideologies. Things to avoid: are getting too caught up in the greater good and masses that you forget the individual & their feelings, and being overly fixed in your own unique way of doing things that you can’t consider someone else’s good ideas. Then, the Moon in Aquarius will make a flowing trine to Saturn in Libra (exact at 4:19pm EST). This is a great time for organization, house cleaning, filing, recycling, and being disciplined. This is also beneficial for starting a diet or health regimen (like quitting smoking). Sometimes others will ask for help around this transit, but it won’t be burdensome, we will be happy to assist! Just after, the (Full) Moon will form a positive sextile with Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 4:30pm EST) helping us to break out of our rut and even do something that may be somewhat unconventional. Technology (like computers), inventing, New Aged ideologies, and friendships are favored around this transit. The height of the Full Moon in Aquarius (exact at 9:37pm EST). The Full Moon that takes place in July is often called the Full Buck Moon, The Thunder Moon, or the Hay Moon. The height of the Full Moon is always signified by the opposition of the Sun (currently in Leo). Do you feel rebellious but are actually complacent? Do you have trouble balancing friendships with family (especially if you have children)? Do you remember to bring out your inner child sometimes to play? Do you buck the system just to stir things up? Do you partake in drama even if it doesn’t pertain to you? If you don’t have drama in your life, do you feel bored? Do you help your community or charities enough with your time and/or money? These questions/themes will be highlighted now. It depends where the Moon/Aquarius & Sun/Leo falls within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level. Full Moons astrologically are considered to be a time of culmination or endings. I personally like to take this time to meditate and send out prayers for family, friends, and humanity. The day ends on a high note when the (Full) Moon in Aquarius makes a positive sextile with Jupiter (R) in Aries (exact at 10:24pm EST) helping us to feel optimistic and/or lucky. This is an ideal time to be with friends or to work with a group of people. It is also beneficial for spirituality/religion, higher or continuing education, horses, law/legal matters, advertising, sales, and publishing.

(Monday 7/26/10)- There will be Five heavy-duty planetary transits today. Well, one at least will be pleasant. We will also encounter the last (in a series of five) of the Saturn/Uranus oppositions. We won’t have to deal with that one again for another 45 years! Remember, we will still be feeling the effects of yesterdays Jupiter/Pluto square and the Full Moon. This is a lot of cosmic energy, so try to work on balance and grounding around this time! Even though the Moon isn’t forming any significant aspects today, we will still be under the influence of the Aquarian Moon.

It starts in the early morning when Mercury in Leo will oppose Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 6:03am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. If you are sleeping during the height of this, you could have prophetic or “visitation” dreams. Be very careful (especially) with business dealings around this time. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is! Review all fine print closely and if possible put off signing any contracts. We will want to idealize people/situations around this time. To put it bluntly, we could be more susceptible to manipulation or someone fibbing to get their way. On the positive side: creativity, intuition, and imagination could be increased too. Next, the Sun in Leo will form an uncomfortable quincunx with Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 7:04am). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Power, power, power…did I say power? This one will draw power struggles to us like a magnet. If someone wants to fight, don’t bite…just walk away. This is a time where we may want to get deep and explore our subconscious but everyone around us wants to keep it superficial. We may feel passionate, but for some reason may not be able to express our passion. Quincunxes usually present an obstacle….but that doesn’t mean that we can’t find a way around the obstacle! Just after that, the Sun in Leo forms a flowing trine with Jupiter (R) in Aries (exact at 7:30am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. (This event only occurs twice yearly, usually while Jupiter is Retrograde.) Sunny optimism and confidence surround this transit! This would be a beneficial transit if you were a salesperson (advertising, marketing, publishing, law, etc) because you could easily convince others to buy into your endeavors. This could be one of the best transits, so make the most of it! Work on attracting and manifesting abundance! Later in the morning, Mars in Virgo will form an uncomfortable quincunx with nebulous Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 10:41am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. The energies of these two planets don’t normally blend easily, and today more than ever, they aren’t going to. Mars is about fire and passion. Neptune is water and emotion. It could be hard to access intuition around this time. We may feel fuzzy and unmotivated. Not an ideal time to make big decisions or to sign contracts. Dancing, yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, boating (in fact all water sports) are recommended around this time.

Later, one of the biggest planetary transits of 2010 will take place. Saturn in Libra will oppose Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 1:07pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. You may remember back on Nov 4th (Election Day-2008) the planets Uranus & Saturn opposed each other? The reason why this is such a big event is that these planets only oppose each other at 2 points during a 100 year time span. The last time it was experienced was 1965-1967 and then prior to that, the early 1920’s. This is the 5th of five oppositions between these planets and is involved in the Cardinal T-Square or “Cardinal Climax’ as it is being referred to by some astrologers. This is a complex astrological pattern between Uranus/ Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto that will occur from 2010-2015…and Mars will be temporarily getting into the mix at the end of the week.

So the planet of change (Uranus), independence, and disruption is opposing the planet of order (Saturn), stability, and rules. Challenge to those in authority and shaking up the status quo is in the works. Certainly the word change has been used liberally throughout all of the discussions pertaining to the elections and now Mr. Obama’s presidency! The benefit to this transit is that new solutions will be found to old problems. My favorite saying that could define this time: “The true definition of insanity; is doing the same thing over & over and expecting different results”. At this stage of the game (since this is last time we will be experiencing the opposition) we should be getting more used to the changes to structures and established ways of doing things. Flexibility is very important at this time. Those who have control issues may not be fairing very well…but it will happen regardless if we are comfortable or not. BTW, children & certainly teenagers may challenge authority more during this time. Knowing what you know, try to be patient; they are not immune to planetary influences!

In relationships, feelings of independence vs. commitment may be felt. Your partner may suddenly suggest doing something different than the normal routine. Be careful how you travel, drive, or walk around because Uranus rules accidents and Saturn falls. We may also hear of earthquakes or volcanic eruptions (especially affecting coastal areas, maybe even a tsunami)…and yes I have been writing about this since 2008. A recent example is the Volcano in Iceland. A very good example is the oil hemorrhage in the Gulf (which I believe is not over just yet). Another possibility is that we may hear of changes going on within the medical community. Certainly Obama’s health care reform has been a big focus. Holistic methods are favorable and there may even be a new type of imaging method developed that could replace or enhance the MRI, X-Rays, CAT scans etc. Since both of these planets are slow moving, we will feel the effects several weeks prior and several weeks after. Until recently, these planets residing in Pisces & Virgo. They have now moved into Aries & Libra (both cardinal signs), not to mention Pluto in Capricorn (also a cardinal sign). This will affect leadership, whether it be the government or your manager at work. It depends where Saturn/Libra & Uranus/Aries falls within your chart, in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level. I am personally glad to see this one is over…at least for another 45 years!!

(Tuesday 7/27/10)- I will be doing Astrological Readings at Spirit Dancer today between 2-5pm (I will take my last reading at 5:00pm). This is a great opportunity to get an “introductory” reading from me at a discount. They are located at 125 S. Winooski Ave in Burlington, VT (across from the fire station). Walk-ins are welcome or you can call me for a time. The store’s number is #802-660-8060.

Overnight, the Moon in Aquarius will form an annoying quincunx with Venus in Virgo (exact at 4:59am EST) possibly causing a monkey wrench in the love department. It could be that the object of our affections is somewhat inaccessible around time…. unfortunately the same could be true with our finances too! Double-check your bank account before making a big purchase.

In the afternoon, Mercury in Leo will oppose the “Wounded Healer” Chiron (R) in Aquarius (exact at 12:18pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Past memories may come flooding in around this time. Forgiveness (or the need to forgive) often accompanies this transit….this may be specifically about an old friendship or acquaintances.

The, Mercury (the ruler of communication & transportation) will transition into its native sign of Virgo (exact at 5:43pm EST). Words and phrases to describe Virgo are: “I Analyze!”, Mutable/Earth, detail oriented, perfection, service, criticism, conscientious, health, intelligent, analytical, worry, improvement to others lives, and practical. It is associated with the abdominal area, gastrointestinal system (large and small intestines), spleen, solar plexus, and lower lobes of the liver. Its metal is Mercury. Stones: Jade, Moss Agate, and Blue Sapphire. During the next 10+ weeks, our mental processes will become more serious, detail-oriented, thorough, and service minded. Sometimes this can cause analysis-paralysis. It is important that we don’t lose site of the big picture, while we are conscious of all the small details. We also may find that we become more health conscious and will be thinking more about the food & vitamins that we put into our bodies. This is a good time to learn something new and will be more apt to be thorough in your studies. Mercury will have an extended stay in Virgo because Mercury will be turning Retrograde between 8/20-9/12 (mark your calendars)!! Mercury will transition into diplomatic Libra on 10/3/10.

Later, the Moon makes its monthly conjunction with Neptune (R) both in Aquarius (exact at 11:46pm EST) causing our imagination/creativity to soar. This transit is also beneficial for daydreaming, idealism, intuition, romance, music, poetry, abstract ideas, mysticism, etc. It is possible to be more charming (or to meet charming people) around this transit. Because idealism & escapism can be enhanced with this transit, I wouldn’t make a big decisions or sign contracts around this time. This will start a 4+ hour long void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until tomorrow morning when the Moon changes into dreamy Pisces.

(Wednesday 7/28/10)- Today will consist of 6 Lunar transits and 1 planetary transit. Three out of the six Moon transits will be positive…so a mixed bag. There will be a lot of cosmic energy overnight. Folks that are sensitive to these energies may have trouble sleeping or may have an active dream-state tonight. Just after midnight, Mercury in Virgo forms an annoying quincunx to Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 12:42am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. This will set the stage for surprising insights and ideas on new ways to do things. However, it may be perplexing on how to incorporate these ideas into daily life. However, that is exactly the lesson that is present in this transit! People with nervous conditions, anxiety, palpations, etc. may have trouble around this time. In fact, I would use caution with all stimulants around this time (and that includes sugar)….as we could be feeling downright jittery without much assistance! Next, the Moon in Aquarius forms a (minor) annoying quincunx to Mars in Virgo (exact at 1:51am EST). Did you ever meet someone that says something that is completely different than how they actually act? For instance: you went out on a date, the person says that they had a fantastic time, and then they never called you? This type of disconnect (coming from yourself or coming from others) may be more pronounced around this time. Then, Moon forms its monthly (minor) conjunction with Chiron (R) both in Aquarius (exact at 3:20am EST). You may be presented with an opportunity to heal or to be healed. Holistic and alternative medicine is especially favored. Serendipitous moments abound! The Moon transitions into Pisces (exact at 4:00am). Activities that are favored during Moon in Pisces: creativity, intuition, spiritual aspirations, higher consciousness, connection with feelings, counseling, music, art, photography, nature and especially being near water, and charitable work. Things to avoid are: getting so caught up in others feeling that you put yours aside, excessive escapism, and acting like a martyr. These are all themes that will last the next 2 ½ days. Then, the Moon in Pisces will form an annoying quincunx with Saturn in Libra (exact at 5:08am EST). It may be hard to complete everything on our “list” or to get organized. It’s also possible that our emotions could make it hard to work around this time. Luckily, this influence will be short. Just after, the Moon in Pisces makes its monthly opposition with Mercury in Virgo (exact at 5:19am EST). You may find that you are not able to express yourself as easily or someone may cut you off from saying something. It will be hard to put your thoughts into words. This is a time where someone may oppose your thoughts or feelings. The key is to integrate the two (thoughts & emotions), although it may not be easy. Then, the Moon in Pisces will form a positive sextile with Pluto Capricorn (exact at 10:44am) helping us to connect with what is going on under the surface. This time will be beneficial for: cathartic experiences, deep conversations, and all forms of counseling are favored during this transit.

The Moon in Pisces will form an annoying quincunx with the Sun in Leo (exact at 3:22pm EST). It may be hard to feel supported around this time. Accomplishments may go unrecognized. It is possible to clash with someone younger than yourself (like a parent child relationship).

(Thursday 7/29/10)- I will be doing Astrology Readings at Candles & Creations today between 3:30pm-6pm. This is a great opportunity to get an introductory reading from me. They are located at 150 Dorset St, Suite 301 South Burlington, VT (in the Blue Mall across from the University Mall). Walk-ins are welcome or you can call #802-660-8021 to ensure a time. Check out their link: http://www.candlesandcreations.net

Then, between 6:30-8:30pm, they will be hosting their monthly Sixth Sensory World Meeting. These meetings are based on the teachings of Sonia Choquette. Her link: http://soniachoquette.com Come and “play” with your intuition!

In the morning, Mars in Virgo will form an annoying quincunx with (the Wounded Healer) Chiron in Aquarius (R) (exact at 4:45am EST).

Later in the day, Mars (the God of War) will travel into diplomatic Libra (exact at 7:46pm EST). Mars influences our actions, expression of anger, aggression, ego (both in and out of power), energy, courage, confidence, self-reliance, boldness, violence, destructiveness, cruelty, and often dictates the type of person that we will be sexually attracted to. It’s medical associations are: red blood cells, tolerance for pain, muscular energy, inflammation, and fevers. Mars is like our engine…it makes us go, go, go! Words and phrases to describe Libra are: “I Balance!”, Cardinal/Air, fairness, beauty (did I say Beauty?), partnership, aesthetics, creativity, harmony, indecision, dependence, fickle, and gracious. Libras make great judges because they are often able to see both sides. Its physical associations are the kidneys, lumbar area of the back, buttocks and adrenal glands. Its metal is Copper. Stones: Quartz, Marble, Peridot, Lapis Lazuli, Opal, and Rose Quartz. We just moved through a period of time when Mars was in the perfectionist sign of Virgo and now we will have the chance to practice fairness when it resides in Libra! We will become a little more relationship oriented, diplomatic, and fair. Libra’s generally hate to be alone, and do much better if they are in a relationship or if they live with someone else (it does not have to have romantic ties). Therefore, if you are single, you may be thinking about connecting with another around this time. For couples in a relationship, it would be a great time to bring some romance back into the relationship. Libra is famous for its indecision they will often vacillate for a long time before finally making a decision. We may be more fickle around this time. We won’t enjoy confrontation and may even tell small white lies to avoid it. This might not feel all that comfortable since Mars is about action and aggression…this could lead to passive aggressiveness or simply biting our tongues a lot. Certainly we will have a deeper appreciation for love, art, and beauty over the next month and a half! If you work in the arts or a job that requires creativity; then you may be “in the zone” right now. It depends where Mars/Libra falls within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level. Mars will transition into the passionate sign of Scorpio on 9/14/10.

Lastly, the Moon in Pisces forms its monthly opposition to Venus in Virgo (exact at 11:44pm EST). It’s not good to shop or decorate during this transit. Someone could offend your sense of good taste! Our feelings could be at odds with love relationships right now. This will begin a very long 16+ hour void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon changes into pioneering Aries tomorrow….

(Friday 7/30/10)- Mars (newly in Libra) will go onto highlight the Saturn/Uranus opposition over the next two days. All three are considered to be malefic planets and I am hoping that they will agree to “play nice”. There will also be a multitude of Moon transits that will be highlighting the Cardinal Square. Yikes! Keep in mind that Lunar transits are shorter in duration than planetary transits. Work on grounding, and no matter how aggressive someone may be, try to walk away…otherwise there may be fireworks!

In the morning, Mercury in Virgo will form a flowing trine with Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 6:04am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. If you have to give a speech or a sales pitch to someone right now…well you couldn’t have picked a better time! Communication skills will be persuasive & powerful. Hot topics right now will be sexuality, transformation, psychology, secrets, and fears. If you are able to face these subjects with openness and honesty; then real healing could occur. It would be a good time to whisper sweet-nothings into your partner’s ear. Use words to arouse passion (the good kind!). Pluto does have a dark side, so watch for obsessive thinking and jealousies. Just after, Mercury in Virgo forms an annoying quincunx with Jupiter (R) in Aries (exact at 6:44am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Too much information (TMI)! This is a time where we could find others (or even ourselves) saying too much. This is a “foot in mouth” transit! Careful who you confide in, they may not have your best interest at heart. This would not be a favorable time to plan a trip or pursue legal endeavors. Then, Mars in Virgo will form a stressful opposition with transiting Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 9:31am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Time to expect the unexpected! If you are normally impulsive, then a steady approach is best during this time. If you are normally sedate or in a rut, then use innovation to jolt yourself out of it. This can be a time for innovation and sudden breakthroughs but make sure to think things through before you act. We may encounter someone that is oddly aggressive or not acting like themselves. I would just ignore their behavior (people may be a little “off” right now). Those prone to nervous conditions and anxiety may have difficulty around this transit. We may also hear of fires, war, explosions, or accidents (watch your speed) more around this time.

In the afternoon, the Moon will transition into Aries (exact at 4:42pm EST). Aries Moons are similar to New Moons. It is considered to be a favorable time to start new projects, physical activities (like sports or working out), dynamism, leadership, competition, and action. Things to avoid are being too bossy, arrogant, and insensitive during the next 2 1/2 days. Aries rules the head, so pay attention to stress; especially of you are prone to tension headaches. Then, the Moon will go onto highlight the Mars/Uranus/Saturn opposition when the Moon will form its monthly conjunction with Uranus (R) both in Aries (exact at 5:23pm EST). The Uranus connection can bring us unexpected inspiration/ideas & can enhance clairvoyance & channeling. This can highlight technology, electricity, inventing, and unexpected events. Due to Aries’ influence it can also assist with a pioneering spirit and breaking out of your rut. Just after, the Moon in Aries will form its monthly opposition to Mars in Virgo (exact at 5:49pm EST). Someone could irritate you during this transit. It’s possible to enjoy a debate with someone (or at worst, an argument). As with all Mars transits, I recommend exercise or doing something physical. Mar’s energy will want to get out one way or another; it might as well be constructive! Next, the Moon in Aries will have its monthly opposition with Saturn in Libra (exact at 6:16pm EST). Sometimes this can give us a feeling of loneliness or isolation. We may feel passed over or possibly not getting the recognition that we deserve. It’s possible that our feelings may get in the way of responsibility. Later, the Moon in Aries will square intense Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 11:17pm EST) possibly throwing a speed bump in our path. Someone could know how to push our buttons and really get under our skin. It is important to have good boundaries with others and remember not to overstep yours. Lastly, the Moon will form its monthly conjunction with Jupiter (R) both in Aries (exact at 11:21pm EST) assisting us in feeling optimistic and upbeat. This is an ideal time to work with groups of people. It also highlights/benefits: travel (especially long distance), other cultures, higher education, law, publishing, advertising, sales, horses, and spirituality.

(Saturday 7/31/10)- I will be doing Astrological Readings at Spirit Dancer today between 2-4:30pm. This is a great opportunity to get an “introductory” reading from me at a discount. They are located at 125 S. Winooski Ave in Burlington, VT (across from the fire station). Walk-ins are welcome or you can call me for a time. The store’s number is #802-660-8060.

Overnight, the Moon in Aries will form an annoying quincunx to Mercury in Virgo (exact at 1:19am EST) possibly causing blocks in communication. It may be nearly impossible to express ourselves. You ever had a time that you couldn’t put your thoughts into words? Next, Mars in Virgo will conjunct Saturn in Libra (exact at 4:07am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Slow and steady wins the race! Mars wants to go, go, go and Saturn’s approach is slow & steady. Mars will give us the energy, but be prepared to be in it for the long haul. Try to be patient and take your time with handling the details; it will be worth the effort! Put your energy towards planning, relationships, finances, organization and goal setting. This is a good time to evaluate what you put your energy towards. Is it wasted? Is there a way to take a different approach so that you are not expending too much energy? This can be a good time to get things done, but if we are overly aggressive, we could find out efforts being blocked. Next the Sun in Leo will form a beautiful trine to the Moon in Aries (exact at 9:13am EST). This is beneficial for all kinds of relationships (especially with children) and assists in making us feel loved and supported. This is also an ideal time to be close to pets or nature. Very pleasant indeed! The remainder of the day will be under the influence of the Aries Moon….

Mark your calendars, Venus moves into Libra 8/6/10!

The above transits are often felt collectively but you would need to know where within your chart that they would fall. As always, I am available for a professional astrological reading. I now have a variety of charts to choose from (relationship, life path, time-line, etc). I can do readings in-person or over the phone. Or if you’re not into having a reading, I can just supply a chart. Please feel free to contact me for more information! Have a great week! Bye for now……
