With Neptune turning Retrograde, Chiron turning Retrograde in Pisces, and Fridays Mar/Neptune opposition….I can’t help to wonder if there will be more issues becoming apparent with the oil spill or the ocean in general. Or if headway is made to repair the problem, the possibility of it needing to be re-repaired is also possible. I guess time will tell!
Enjoy your week!

Saturn Turns Direct on 5/30!
Neptune turns Retrograde on 5/31
Chiron turns Retrograde on 6/4
I wanted to add a footnote to my entries. I include the time that a transit will be exact so that you can see when it waxes and then when it starts to wane. However, the effects are often felt sometimes even as long as a day or two. The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after. Keep in mind that Moon transits tend to last a shorter period of time than planetary transits.
(Sunday 5/30/10)- In the morning, the Moon in Capricorn will form an annoying quincunx with the Sun in Gemini (exact at 7:55am EST). It may be hard to feel supported around this time. Accomplishments may go unrecognized. It is possible to clash with someone younger than yourself (like a parent child relationship).
The planet Saturn turning Direct at 2:09pm EST!! It has been Retrograde in the sign of Virgo since 1/13/10. Saturn is the planet of obstacles, delays, long-term goal setting, hard work, Karma, and life lessons. This is the last time it will be going Retrograde in the sign of Virgo for another 30 years!! Key words for Virgo are: “I Analyze!”, detail oriented, perfection, service, criticism, conscientious, health, intelligent, analytical, worry, improvement to others lives, and practical. It is associated with the abdominal area, gastrointestinal system (large and small intestines), spleen, solar plexus, and lower lobes of the liver. Retrograde periods are a time of reflection and lesson that we are supposed to learn from. Themes that were predominant during this phase were: paying attention to detail, learning to be more frugal with your money, setting up a budget for 2010 and sticking to it, solid organizing, health matters, and new health regimes. Saturn is the ruling planet of Capricorn, which also influences knees, teeth, falls, chronic health problems (like arthritis), and the skeleton (in addition to the areas listed above). While Saturn can create many obstacles, frustrations, and delays it can also bless us with great rewards (usually after much hard work). You would need to know where Saturn/Virgo falls within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level. Saturn will leave Virgo for the last time in 29 years and transition into the sign of relationship-oriented Libra on 7/21/10.
Then, the Moon in Capricorn forms its monthly opposition to Venus in Cancer (exact at 3:23pm EST). It’s not good to shop or decorate during this transit. Someone could offend your sense of good taste! Our feelings could be at odds with love relationships right now. Next, Mercury in Taurus will form a slightly uncomfortable semisquare with Uranus in Aries (exact at 6:08pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. These two planets are sort-of the “live wires” of the zodiac. People with ADD, hyper activity, anxiety, nervous conditions, etc., may have difficulty around this time. We may get ideas or sudden insights, but we may be too scattered to stop and think them through. There is a possibility that you may encounter someone that serves as inspiration. Awakening. There could be sudden changes in our plans, travel snafus, and issues surrounding technology..so just remain flexible. There may be difficulty or disruption with sleep. Lastly, the Moon in Capricorn makes a flowing trine to Mercury in Taurus (exact at 7:55pm EST). This transit will assist us to express how we feel. It will be much easier to speak with friends and loved ones during this time. We may have an urge to be social around this transit and is highly beneficial for all kinds of relationships.
(Monday 5/31/10)- Memorial Day Observed! In the morning, Venus in Cancer will form a slightly uncomfortable sesquisquare with Neptune in Aquarius (exact at 8:56am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Idealism, love, & escapism all rolled up into one big rose-colored package! It is possible to meet charming people (or to be charming ourselves) around this time so, wait until another day before serious declarations of love or before signing on the dotted line! Creativity, music, art, films, etc. will be favored. It is possible this could make us a little dreamy, sleepy, or fuzzy around this time.
Now I will need to cover what it means when Neptune goes Retrograde in Aquarius (exact at 2:48pm EST). (Retrograde meaning: As all planets orbit around one another, they do so at different rates. Long ago Astronomers/Astrologers believed that the planets seemed to slow down and eventually reverse their orbit. This in fact, is an optical illusion caused by different orbit speeds, when viewed from Earth. This process is called a Retrograde in Astrology. In interpretation it means that the planet is somewhat weakened and the energies are harder to access). Since Neptune is a slow-moving outer planet, most of us won’t really feel this too strongly (unless you have a strong Neptune in your chart like I do or if Neptune was Retrograde at the time you were born). Neptune is usually in each sign for roughly 14 years and goes retrograde for approximately 4 ½ to 5 months per year. Usually, most people will feel this during the 1st 2 weeks during its Stationary/Retrograde phase and the last 2 weeks and while it is returning to Direct. Neptune is currently in the sign of Aquarius and it rules over: dreams, fantasy, imagination, creativity, spirituality, escapism (drugs & alcohol), film industry, music, hypnosis, institutions/hospitals, illusion, idealism, and fluidity. It is associated with: feet, toes, toxins, malformation, leakage, and really anything that is hard to diagnose. You would need to know where Neptune/Aquarius falls within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level. Neptune will turn direct again on November 7th, 2010.
Later, the Moon in Capricorn makes an annoying quincunx to Mars in Leo (exact at 6:42pm EST). Did you ever meet someone that says something that is completely different than how they actually act? For instance: you went out on a date, the person says that they had a fantastic time, and then they never called you? This type of disconnect (coming from yourself or coming from others) may be more pronounced around this time. Then, the Moon in Capricorn will make a flowing trine to Saturn in Virgo (exact at 8:50pm EST). This is a great time for organization, house cleaning, filing, recycling, and being disciplined. This is also beneficial for starting a diet or health regimen (like quitting smoking). Sometimes others will ask for help around this transit, but it won’t be burdensome, we will be happy to assist! Lastly, the Moon in Capricorn makes a positive sextile with Jupiter in Pisces (exact at 11:41pm EST) helping us to feel optimistic and/or lucky. This is an ideal time to be with friends or to work with a group of people. It is also beneficial for spirituality/religion, higher or continuing education, horses, law/legal matters, advertising, sales, and publishing. This will also start an 1+ hour void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon transitions tomorrow into unique Aquarius. When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet, before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”. It is best to not do anything new during these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have delays.
(Tuesday 6/1/10)- I will be doing Astrological Readings at Spirit Dancer today between 2-5pm (I will take my last reading at 5:00pm). This is a great opportunity to get an “introductory” reading from me at a discount. They are located at 125 S. Winooski Ave in Burlington, VT (across from the fire station). Walk-ins are welcome or you can call me for a time. The store’s number is #802-660-8060.
Today should be an astrologically quite day with just a couple of Moon transits. Just remember, that Lunar transits are shorter in duration than planetary transits. Overnight, the Moon changes into unique Aquarius (exact at 1:08am EST). Activities that are favored during Moon in Aquarius are: social endeavors, friendship, technology, humanitarian efforts, politics, inventing, and New Age ideologies. Things to avoid: are getting too caught up in the greater good and masses that you forget the individual & their feelings, and being overly fixed in your own unique way of doing things that you can’t consider someone else’s good ideas. Just after, the Moon in Aquarius will form a positive sextile with Uranus in Aries (exact at 1:22am EST) helping us to break out of our rut and even do something that may be somewhat unconventional. Technology (like computers), inventing, New Aged ideologies, and friendships are favored around this transit. This could cause disturbed dreams and/or sleep (possibly inspirational or vivid dreams). The remainder of the day will be influence by the Aquarius Moon…
(Wednesday 6/2/10)- After midnight, the Sun in Gemini will form a beautiful trine to the Moon in Aquarius (exact at 12:15am EST). This is beneficial for all kinds of relationships (especially with children) and assists in making us feel loved and supported. This is also an ideal time to be close to pets or nature. Very pleasant indeed! Then, Venus in Cancer will form an uncomfortable sesquisquare with Chiron in Aquarius (exact at 5:14am EST). Remember, all of these are planetary transits and their effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. This could bring up past pains & past loves. Use this time to heal old relationship wounds. Then, the Moon in Aquarius will form an annoying quincunx with Venus in Cancer (exact at 9:25am EST) possibly causing a monkey wrench in the love department. It could be that the object of our affections is somewhat inaccessible around time…. unfortunately the same could be true with our finances too! Double-check your bank account before making a big purchase.
In the afternoon, the Moon in Aquarius forms an uncomfortable square with Mercury in Taurus (exact at 2:44pm EST) possibly causing miscommunications. You may find that you are not able to express yourself as easily or someone may cut you off from saying something.
(Thursday 6/3/10)- In the morning, Mercury in Taurus forms an uncomfortable Sesquisquare with Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 5:20am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Be careful (especially) with business dealings around this transit. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is! Review all fine print closely and if possible put off signing any contracts. We will want to idealize people/situations around this time. On the positive side: creativity, intuition, and imagination could be increased too. Then, the Moon in Aquarius will form an annoying quincunx with Saturn in Virgo (exact at 9:12am EST). It may be hard to complete everything on our “list” or to get organized. It’s also possible that our emotions could make it hard to work around this time. Luckily, this influence will be short… Next, the Moon in Aquarius will form its monthly opposition to Mars in Leo (exact at 9:42am EST). Someone could irritate you during this transit. It’s possible to enjoy a debate with someone (or at worst, an argument). As with all Mars transits, I recommend exercise or doing something physical. Mar’s energy will want to get out one way or another; it might as well be constructive! Next, the Moon makes its monthly conjunction with Neptune (R) both in Aquarius (exact at 10:56am EST) causing our imagination/creativity to soar. This transit is also beneficial for daydreaming, idealism, intuition, romance, music, poetry, abstract ideas, mysticism, etc. It is possible to be more charming (or to meet charming people) around this transit. Because idealism & escapism can be enhanced with this transit, I wouldn’t make a big decisions or sign contracts around this time. This will start a 2+ hour long void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until tomorrow when the Moon changes into dreamy Pisces.
In the afternoon, the Moon transitions into Pisces (exact at 1:34pm). Activities that are favored during Moon in Pisces: creativity, intuition, spiritual aspirations, higher consciousness, connection with feelings, counseling, music, art, photography, nature and especially being near water, and charitable work. Things to avoid are: getting so caught up in others feeling that you put your aside, excessive escapism, and acting like a martyr. These are all themes that will last the next 2 ½ days. Then, the Moon forms its monthly conjunction with Chiron both in Aquarius (exact at 3:35pm). You may be presented with an opportunity to heal or to be healed. Holistic and alternative medicine is especially favored. Serendipitous moments abound! Lastly, the Moon in Pisces will form a positive sextile with Pluto (R) Capricorn (exact at 10:58pm) helping us to connect with what is going on under the surface. If you were awake during this time it would be beneficial for: cathartic experiences, deep conversations, and all forms of counseling are favored during this transit. It may be possible to have intense dreams while you are sleeping.
(Friday 6/4/10)- Overnight, the planetoid, Chiron in Pisces will be turning Retrograde (exact at 3:04am EST). Chiron is often called “the Wounded Healer”. In astrology, it is associated with healing, medicine, the mind/body/spirit connection, teaching, reoccurring problems in our life, and music. This will be a time to review those matters. You would need to know where Chiron/Pisces falls within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level.
The astrological day will start later when Mars in Leo will form a stressful opposition with nebulous Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 1:52pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. The energies of these two planets don’t normally blend easily. Mars is about fire and passion. Neptune is water and emotion. But blending them is exactly what is called for! We may crave action right now, but the actual course of action may be blurry. We may feel fuzzy and unmotivated today. The good news is that dancing, yoga, meditation, boating (in fact all water sports) are recommended around this time. Then, the Sun in Gemini will form an uncomfortable square with the Moon in Pisces (exact at 6:13pm EST). So, toward the early evening we may experience some tension between friends or loved ones. This won’t be conducive to feeling very supported. Sometimes this transit brings (minor) squabbles.
(Saturday 6/5/10)- Today will consist of Moon transits. Keep in mind that they are shorter in duration than planetary transits! In the morning, the Moon in Pisces forms a flowing trine with Venus in Cancer (exact at 4:44am EST). You could find your thoughts with friends or loved ones. It is possible to receive a compliment on how you look. Love, beauty, art, creativity, and aesthetics will be favored (and because of this reason, shopping too). Pamper yourself! Then, the Moon in Pisces will form a positive sextile to Mercury in Taurus (exact at 11:25am EST). This will make us want to reach out to friends and family to chat. This transit helps with the flow of communication. It will be easier to express how we feel around this transit.
Later, the Moon in Pisces will have its monthly opposition with Saturn in Virgo (exact at 9:36pm EST). Luckily the duration of this event is short and the height may occur while we are sleeping. Sometimes this can give us a feeling of loneliness or isolation. We may feel passed over or possibly not getting the recognition that we deserve. It’s possible that our feelings may get in the way of responsibility.
Mark your calendars (next week is busy)! Jupiter moves into Aries 6/6, Mars into Virgo 6/7, Mercury into Gemini 6/10, and New Moon in Gemini on 6/12!
The above transits are often felt collectively but you would need to know where within your chart that they would fall. As always, I am available for a professional astrological reading. I now have a variety of charts to choose from (relationship, life path, time-line, etc). I can do readings in-person or over the phone. Or if you’re not into having a reading, I can just supply a chart. Please feel free to contact me for more information! Have a great week! Bye for now……
