Keep in mind while you
read this Blog that I include the time that a transit will be exact so that you
can see when it waxes and then when it starts to wane. The effects of a transit are often felt as
long as a day or two (or even longer).
The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to
the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after. It’s important to remember that Moon transits
tend to last a shorter period of time than planetary transits. I will no longer be including every transit
that occurs, but rather highlighting the most dominant transit (to make the
Blog a little easier to read, in response to reader feedback!).
I wanted to add a footnote to my
entries. I include the time that a
transit will be exact so that you can see when it waxes and then when it starts
to wane. However, the effects are often
felt sometimes even as long as a day or two.
The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to
the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after. Keep in mind that Moon transits tend to last
a shorter period of time than planetary transits.
(Sunday 5/20/12)- If you would like more information about the
astrological energies of today, please feel free to view my YouTube video where
I covered this day extensively! Just after midnight, the Moon will conjunct Mercury
both in Taurus (exact at 12:37am EST) assisting with communication, short
distance travel and feeling supported by others. It will be very easy to express feelings and
emotions around this time. This is a
great time to write (like journaling) or to express emotions. Next, the Moon in Taurus will form an
annoying quincunx with Saturn (R) in Libra (exact at 6:27am EST). It may be hard to complete everything on
our “list” or to get organized. It’s
also possible that our emotions could make it hard to work around this
time. Luckily, this influence will be
short. Then, the Moon will form its monthly conjunction with Jupiter
both in Taurus (exact at 8:35am EST) assisting us in feeling optimistic and upbeat. This is an ideal time to work with groups of
people. It also highlights/benefits:
travel (especially long distance), other cultures, higher education, law,
publishing, advertising, sales, horses, and spirituality. This will also be the beginning of a long 10+ hour void of course cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into
lively Gemini. When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet,
before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”. It is best to not do anything new during
these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have
delays.
Next, the Sun will transition
into the communicative sign of Gemini (exact at 11:16am EST). So
make sure you say Happy Birthday to all of your Gemini friends and family over
the next month! Words and phrases to
describe Gemini (ruled by Mercury) are: “I Think!”, Mutable/Air, communication, writing, media,
talking, duality (the “twins”), diversified interests, “jack of all trades”,
travel, shallowness, witty, quick, intellect, multi-tasker, gossip, designer,
nervousness, moodiness and chatty. The
body parts it’s associated with are: hands, arms, shoulders, nervous system and
lungs. Its metal is Mercury. Stones:
Agate, Citrine, Moonstone, Pearl, Howlite, and White Sapphire. We are moving away from a time of solid
security (Taurus), into a time of childlike curiosity and wonder (Gemini).
Gemini’s really are the proverbial child of the zodiac. Many Gemini’s are master
mutli-taskers, and this could be a time where our energies are very diverse yet
sometimes scattered. I always seem to be talking to my Gemini’s about grounding
and remaining in their physical bodies. In my private astrological readings,
I'm often recommending to Gemini’s that they exercise to ground themselves. Yes
of course, this has positive effects on their bodies but it is more important
for them mentally to exercise. Any kind of exercise that encourages them to use
their minds to move their body like yoga, Zumba, or martial arts. Walking
sometimes is not enough to get you out of your head and back into your body.
Gemini is an air/mental sign and therefore they need a lot of mental
stimulation. This can range from reading or writing books, scanning the
Internet, learning new languages, or really anything that stretches their
mental prowess. Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury and therefore is also
associated with communication and travel. Gemini’s along with their opposite
sign Sagittarius, are known for loving travel and adventure. This is certainly a time where we could be
discussing vacation plans and weekend getaways. We can also be more social than
usual accepting invitations from friends or family members and we may find
ourselves on the phone more, e-mailing more, Facebooking more, etc. In business, this is certainly a good time to
network and stay in contact with clients.
Flirting may be back in style during this timeframe and this could
certainly be helpful if you are single and looking for a mate. Don't forget if
you are in a relationship that it's also important to continue to flirt with
your partner too! It depends where the
Sun/Gemini fall within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on
a personal level. Famous Geminis are:
Angelina Jolie, Annette Benning, Drew Carey, Courteney Cox, Johnny Depp,
Melissa Etheridge, Steffi Graf, Joan Rivers, Anne Frank, Elizabeth Hurley, Anne
Heche, Nicole Kidman, Anna Kournikova, Donald Trump, Lenny Kravitz, Kylie
Minogue, Marilyn Monroe, Bob Dylan, George & Barbara Bush, Prince William,
Brooke Shields, Alanis Morissette, Bob Hope, Boy George, Clint Eastwood, Frank
Lloyd Wright, Meryl Streep, Ice Cube, Patti Labelle, Jamie Oliver, Paul
McCartney, Lauryn Hill, and Venus Williams.
In the evening, Mercury
in Scorpio will form a slightly uncomfortable semisquare with Uranus in Aries
(exact at 6:05pm EST). Remember,
this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a
Moon transit. These two planets are
sort-of the “live wires” of the zodiac.
People with ADD, hyper activity, anxiety, nervous conditions, etc., may
have difficulty around this time. We may
get ideas or sudden insights, but we may be too scattered to stop and think
them through. There is a possibility
that you may encounter someone that serves as inspiration. Awakening!
There could be sudden changes in our plans, travel snafus, and issues
surrounding technology…so just remain flexible.
There may be difficulty or disruption with sleep. Then, the Moon transitions into the communicative sign of Gemini (exact at 7:47pm
EST). Good Gemini Moon activities are: communication (including talking,
emailing, faxing, writing, etc), working with your hands, interaction with
others (especially siblings and teachers), learning something new, diversified
interests, mental agility, inquisitiveness, travel, and reading. Things to avoid are: fickleness, information
overload, starting too many things & not being able to finish them, hyper
activity, talking too much, and indecisiveness.
These are all themes that will last the next 2 ½ days. At the same time, the New Moon/Annular Solar Eclipse will
be at its height in the sign of Gemini (exact at 7:47pm EST).
All of the Gemini Moon themes will be highlighted/amplified. The New Moon is considered to be a highly
auspicious time for starting new things, new ideas, new projects, and
manifesting. I personally like to do
space clearing and meditating around this time.
The New Moon is always accompanied by a conjunction with the Sun (also
in Gemini). This usually makes us feel
connected & supported by loved ones.
It’s easier to talk about our emotions during this transit. Just use caution however, because there may
be so much energy that we could encounter feeling frazzled and scattered. Then, to give this New Moon some extra zing,
there will also be an Annular Solar Eclipse.
Unfortunately, this will not be visible on the East Coast; however it is
still felt on an astrological & energetic level. For more information about its path check out
this web site: http://earthsky.org/tonight/annular-eclipse-of-the-sun-china-to-texas-on-may-20-or-may-21
Eclipses in astrology, are
associated with transformation and a beginning of a new cycle. Very much like rebooting a computer. Pay attention to what is going on around you
at this time and notice any major changes or patterns. It would be helpful to know where the Moon/Sun/Gemini are located in your chart in
order to know how this will affect you on a personal level.
(Monday
5/21/12)- Today
we will continue with the Gemini/Mercury theme. There could be some hiccups or
bumps in the road especially with communication and travel. Allow extra time to
get to appointments and it may require extra energy to be sure that we
communicate clearly and concisely. Even if we do, others may misconstrue what
we say. People are having trouble slowing down to really listen. Overnight, the Moon in
Gemini forms an uncomfortable square with Neptune in Pisces (exact at 1:22am) telling us to not believe
everything we are told. Illusion,
escapism and deception will be prevalent.
On the positive side, creativity will be high around this transit. If you are sleeping while this event occurs,
it may be possible to have prophetic or “visitation” dreams around this time. Then, Mercury in Taurus forms an annoying quincunx
with Saturn (R) in Libra (exact at 8:51am EST).
Remember,
this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a
Moon transit. This will not be
a good time for communication or travel.
There may be delays or obstacles with both. It is possible to experience solidarity. Stick with the facts if you need to
communicate. Don’t try to tackle too
many things around this transit. A slow
and steady approach is called for. Focus
on one thing at a time, otherwise there is a good chance mistakes will be made
or it will need to be done over anyway.
It may be possible that we are slower than normal in learning
something. Back-talking to someone in authority
is a no-no. Next, the Moon in Gemini will form a
positive sextile with Uranus in Aries (exact at 10:13am EST) helping us to
break out of our rut and even do something that may be somewhat
unconventional. Technology (like
computers), inventing, New Aged ideologies, and friendships are favored around
this transit.
In the afternoon,
Mercury in Taurus will form a slightly uncomfortable sesquisquare with intense
Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 1:44pm EST). Remember,
this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a
Moon transit. It may be harder to
access deeper thoughts around this time.
This is actually a better time for superficial activities. Keep things light! Not a good time to do research or to “dig
below the surface”. Verbal sparring or
debates could end in disastrous results because others won’t want to back
down. Just go with the flow right now.
Lastly, the Moon in Gemini will form an uncomfortable square with Mars in
Virgo (exact at 5:17pm EST). As with
all Mars transits, I recommend doing something physical or exercising around
this time (gardening, housework, working on the car, etc. all count!). Sexuality can be enhanced around this
transit. Did you ever have a moment
where circumstances seem like they are conspiring against you? Often, this transit results in a culmination
of things that can be annoying.
Sometimes small irritations or quarrels can result.
(Tuesday
5/22/12)- I
will be doing Astrological Readings at Spirit Dancer today between 3:00-6:00pm
(I take my last reading at 5:30pm). This
is a great opportunity to get an introductory reading from me at a discount-$30
½ hr. They are located at 125 S.
Winooski Ave in Burlington, VT (across from the fire station). Walk-ins are welcome or you can call me for a
time. The store’s number is
802-660-8060.
Today
may be the most astrologically pleasant day of the week! Overnight, Mercury
will form a powerful conjunction Jupiter both in the sign of Taurus (exact at 1:58am
EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and
its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. We will feel opulent, jovial, and downright
bubbly. For all you students out there,
this would be an excellent time to square away questions about financing and/or
higher education. This could also be a
favorable day for legal issues. Since Jupiter sometimes acts like an amplifier,
there is the potential to overdo it. Jupiter helps us to over-spend, talk big,
and overextend ourselves. Even the most
surly of individuals have to smile sometimes right?
In
the evening, the Moon will conjunct Venus (R) both in Gemini (exact at 5:24pm
EST). We will want to experience
love on a visceral level. This is a
great time to: pamper ourselves, decorate, shop (because we will have an “eye”
for things that look good), artistic endeavors, creativity, and be in the company
of loved ones. Sometimes this transit
can have us feeling a little indolent; it is actually a favored time for
finances. Lastly, the Moon in Gemini
will make a flowing trine to Saturn (R) in Libra (exact at 6:51pm EST). This is a great time for organization,
house cleaning, filing, recycling, and being disciplined. This is also beneficial for starting a diet
or health regimen (like quitting smoking).
Sometimes others will ask for help around this transit, but it won’t be
burdensome, we will be happy to assist!
This will start a long 12+ hour void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon
transitions into the sensitive sign of Cancer tomorrow morning…..
(Wednesday
5/23/12)- Both
today and Friday there will be unfavorable aspects with Neptune. This is not
favorable for signing contracts or important decision-making. In the
morning, the Moon will transition into Cancer (exact at 7:31am EST). Good Cancer Moon activities are: anything to do with home and family, cooking,
maternal/mothering, being emotional, crafts, sensitivity, empathy, finances,
savings, and care-taking. Things to
avoid are: holding grudges, feeling slighted (possibly with little or no
cause), over sensitivity, emotional eating, stubbornness, and being grumpy. All of these themes will be highlighted over
the next 2 ½ days….
In the afternoon, the Moon in Cancer will form a
flowing trine to Neptune in Pisces (exact at 1:42pm EST) causing our
imagination/creativity to soar. This
transit is also beneficial for daydreaming, idealism, intuition, romance,
music, poetry, abstract ideas, mysticism, etc.
It is possible to be more charming (or to meet charming people) around
this transit. (I wouldn’t make a big
decision around this time). Next, the Sun
in Gemini will form an uncomfortable square with nebulous Neptune in Pisces (exact
at 4:55pm EST). Remember, this is
a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon
transit. Dreaming and daydreaming of
the good old days? This one could zap
some of our energy. We could feel fuzzy
and have trouble focusing. Idealism and
a lack of practicality could be running rampant right now. Try to avoid making big decisions or signing
important papers around this time. What
is favored is creativity (art, film. music, etc)…best to try and relax and
enjoy a good movie! We may run late for
work today or have the desire to sleep-in.
Lastly, the Moon in Cancer uncomfortably squares Uranus
in Aries (exact at 10:30pm EST).
This is a time where someone around you may challenge tradition. You may also want to buck the system. An unexpected event or surprise could catch
you off-guard. It is possible to
experience issues with technology or mechanical issues. This could cause disturbed dreams and/or
sleep (possibly inspirational or vivid dreams).
(Thursday 5/24/12)- Overnight, the Moon in Cancer will form its monthly opposition to
Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 1:34am EST). This can signify a (short) period of
intensity. Someone could challenge you
in an area where you are sensitive.
Another possibility is that you may spend too much time analyzing
instead of acting. Avoid underhanded
tactics because someone will be more apt to notice. Next, the Moon in Cancer will form a
flowing trine with (the “Wounded Healer”) Chiron in Pisces (exact at 2:31am
EST). You may be presented with an
opportunity to heal or to be healed.
Holistic and alternative medicine is especially favored. Serendipitous moments abound! Then, the Moon in Cancer will form a
positive sextile with Mars in Virgo (exact at 6:59am EST). As with all Mars transits, I recommend doing
something physical or exercising around this time (the energy will need a
constructive outlet). Sexuality can be
enhanced around this transit. Our
feelings will be in alignment with how we act.
Make sure to put your actions toward positive pursuits!
Continuing with the Mercurial
theme this week, Mercury (the God of communication & transportation)
will transition into its native sign of Gemini (exact at 7:12am EST). Words and phrases to describe
Gemini are: “I Think!”, Mutable/Air, communication, writing, media, talking,
duality (the twins), diversified interests, “jack of all trades”, travel,
shallowness, witty, quick, intellect, multi-tasker, gossip, designer,
nervousness, moodiness and chatty. The body parts it’s associated with are:
hands, arms, shoulders, nervous system and lungs. We are moving away from a
time of good solid planning and methodology (Taurus) and entering a
hyper-mental state that will increase multi-tasking (Gemini). Anyone with air
signs in their natal charts (especially) will feel like they are buzzing and
may get an extra boost of energy. If you feel a little over stimulated with
this shift, try to get grounded in the physical through exercise or gardening.
Faxing, emailing, texting, Skyping, Tweeting, FaceBooking, phoning,…ANY form of
communication will increase over the next two weeks. This is a great time if
you need to juggle multiple things and progress could be made. However, Gemini
doesn’t have a lot of staying power, so it may be hard to finish those things.
Travel may be on the mind and this would be a great time to take or plan a
trip. In fact other cultures could prove fascinating. Maybe it is time to
finally learn another language? Manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
skills will be sharp. Time to tackle that project or hobby…maybe even build a
bird house? The down side is that obviously being overly scattered is a real
danger during this time. Fickle emotions and changing tastes are also an issue.
Try not to indulge in mean or hurtful gossip. During this time period, it is
likely that the story had been passed between 10 people and doesn’t even
resemble the truth by this point. It depends on where Mercury/Gemini falls
within your natal birth chart in order to know how this will affect you on a
personal level. Mercury will transition into Cancer on June 7th!
(Friday 5/25/12)- Much like Wednesday, today
there is an unfavorable transit with Neptune. This is not favorable for signing
contracts or important decision-making. In the morning, the Moon in Cancer will form an uncomfortable square
with Saturn (R) in Libra (exact at 5:44am EST). Luckily the duration of this event is
short. Sometimes this can give us a
feeling of loneliness or isolation. We
may feel passed over or possibly not getting the recognition that we
deserve. It is better to work on
organization around this time. Then, the
Moon in Cancer makes a positive sextile with Jupiter in Taurus (exact at 10:34am
EST) helping us to feel optimistic and/or lucky. This is an ideal time to be with friends or
to work with a group of people. It is
also beneficial for spirituality/religion, higher or continuing education,
horses, law/legal matters, advertising, sales, and publishing. This will be the start of a 7+ hour long void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until this evening when
the Moon will transition into the sign of dramatic Leo….
In the early evening, Mercury in Gemini will form
an uncomfortable square with Neptune in Pisces (exact at 5:37pm EST).
Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt
much longer than a Moon transit. Be
very careful (especially) with business dealings today. If it sounds too good to be true, then it
probably is! Review all fine print
closely and if possible put off signing any contracts. We will want to idealize people/situations
around this time. To put it bluntly, we
could be more susceptible to manipulation or someone fibbing to get their way. On the positive side: creativity, intuition,
and imagination will be increased too.
Lastly, the Moon will transition
into Leo (exact at 6:11pm EST). Good
activities to do when the Moon is in
Leo are: anything to do with performing or theater, seeing a show,
dressing up & looking nice, managing, feeling proud, entrepreneurial
endeavors, gambling, playing games, routing for the underdog and taking care of
children. Things to avoid are being too
bossy, acting egotistical, and going over the top. All of these themes will be highlighted over
the next 2 ½ days.
(Saturday 5/26/12)- Today will consist
entirely of Moon transits. Keep in mind, that Lunar transits are shorter in
duration than planetary transits.
We start off just after midnight, when the Moon will
highlight the Mercury/Neptune square that occurred yesterday. Please refer to yesterday's blog entry for
more details. Then, the Moon
in Leo will positively sextile the Sun in Gemini (exact at 4:41am EST). This is an ideal time to be with friends & loved ones. This transit is conducive for feeling
supported. Maybe it’s time to do
something nice for your sweetheart?
Next, the Moon in Leo will form a
flowing trine with Uranus in Aries (exact at 8:44am EST) helping us to step
up to the plate and do the right thing, even though it may be somewhat
unconventional. We could get sudden revelations or ideas, so write them
down! Technology (like
computers), inventing, New Age ideologies, and friendships are favored around
this transit. This could cause disturbed
dreams and/or sleep (possibly inspirational or vivid dreams). Then, the Moon in Leo will make an annoying quincunx with powerful Pluto
(R) in Capricorn (exact at 11:24am EST).
Certainly this can bring up jealousy issues, power struggles, hidden
fears, and obsessions. It is best to
keep things a little superficial. This
transit could cause frustrations on blending work and family time (especially
if you have children).
In the afternoon, the Moon in
Leo forms an annoying quincunx with Chiron in Pisces (exact at 12:28pm EST). Past issues may resurface at this time. It may be hard to forgive & forget around
this time. Remember that forgiveness
gives you peace within yourself and is not necessarily for the other person. The remainder of the day will be under the
influence of the Leo Moon……
Stay tuned for more exciting Astrological energy next week!!!!
The above transits are often felt
collectively but you would need to know where within your chart that they would
fall. As always, I am available for a
professional astrological reading. I now have a variety of charts to
choose from (relationship, life path, time-line, etc). I can do readings
in-person, Skype, or over the phone. Or
if you’re not into having a reading, I can just supply a chart. Please feel free to contact me for more
information! Have a great week!
Bye for now……
