I hope this week’s Blog entry finds you well! It seems that Sunday and Saturday are astrologically the quietest days of this week. Venus will be finishing its opposition with the triple conjunction (with Jupiter 9/11, Chiron 9/14, & Neptune 9/15) this week. There could be relationship issues or financial difficulties during this time. Meanwhile, the Sun is forming annoying quincunxes with the triple conjunction around the same time, possibly causing obstacles or delays. The big event will happen on Tuesday when Saturn opposes Uranus. This will be the 3rd time in a series of 5 times between 2008-10. This event only happens every 45 years! Mercury will transition into Virgo, and the Sun will conjunct Saturn in Virgo on Thursday. Then, Friday the New Moon will be in Virgo! Hope you have a great week!
I wanted to add a footnote to my entries. I include the time that a transit will be exact so that you can see when it waxes and then when it starts to wane. However, the effects are often felt sometimes even as long as a day or two. The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after. Keep in mind that Moon transits tend to last a shorter period of time than planetary transits.
(Sunday 9/13/09)- We start the day with the Moon forming its monthly conjunction with Mars both in Cancer (exact at 12:10pm EST). As with most Mars transits, I usually will recommend some form of physical exercise (yes, that includes gardening, working on the car, housework, etc.). This can increase physical vitality & health (and passion too). It is important to properly channel the excess energy; otherwise arguments and nitpicking could result. Later in the day, the Moon in Cancer will quincunx Jupiter (R) in Aquarius (exact at 11:34pm EST). This is a time where you could feel disconnected from the group. Someone could challenge your beliefs around this time. Our optimism or self-confidence may be a little low. This is not a time to rely on luck. Don’t worry, this will be temporary!
(Monday 9/14/09)- Today will be a very active astrological day to say the least. There will be 6 Moon transits today. Four out of the six will be positive. I won’t be covering all of them, because there will also be 3 (stronger) planetary transits. First, Venus in Leo will form a stressful opposition with Chiron (R) in Aquarius (exact at 1:32am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. This could bring up past pains, unreconciled feelings & past loves. Use this time to heal old wounds. Then, Mercury in Libra (R) forms an uncomfortable Sesquisquare with Jupiter (R) in Aquarius (exact at 3:46am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Too much information (TMI)! This is a time where we could find others (or even ourselves) saying too much. If you ever had interests in other cultures, religions, law, marketing, publishing, and/or travel; it would be a great time to explore these subjects. Use caution with overconfidence and avoid embellishment of the facts. The upside is that we could be feeling fairly optimistic and will have a bright mental outlook. Next, the Moon in Cancer will form a flowing trine with Uranus (R) in Pisces (exact at 9:47am EST) helping us to step up to the plate and do the right thing, even though it may be somewhat unconventional. Technology (like computers), inventing, New Aged ideologies, and friendships are favored around this transit. This will be the beginning of a 8+ hour void of course cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into dramatic Leo. When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet, before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”. It is best to not do anything new during these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have delays.
The Moon will transition into Leo (exact at 6:39pm EST). Good activities to do when the Moon is in Leo are: anything to do with performing or theater, seeing a show, dressing up & looking nice, managing, feeling proud, entrepreneurial endeavors, gambling, playing games, routing for the underdog and taking care of children. Things to avoid are being too bossy, acting egotistical, and going over the top. All of these themes will be highlighted over the next 2 ½ days. Then Sun in Virgo will quincunx Chiron (R) in Aquarius (exact at 7:17pm). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. This could bring up past memories (or hurts). Chiron brings puts an emphasis on healing and forgiveness. The Moon in Leo will highlight that quincunx by forming another one with powerful Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 7:45pm EST). Certainly this can bring up jealousy issues, power struggles, hidden fears, and obsessions. This transit could cause frustrations on blending work and family time (especially time with children). Lastly, the Moon in Leo will form a positive sextile to Mercury (R) in Gemini (exact at 11:22pm EST). This will make us want to reach out to friends and family to chat. This transit helps with the flow of communication.
(Tuesday 9/15/09)- (I will be out of town this week, and therefore not doing
Today one of the biggest planetary transits of 2009 will take place. Saturn in Virgo will oppose Uranus (R) in Pisces (exact at 8:51am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. You may remember back on Nov 4th (Election Day) the planets Uranus & Saturn opposed each other? The reason why this is a big event is that these planets only oppose each other at 2 points during a 100 year time span. The last time it was experienced was 1965-1967 and then prior to that, the early 1920’s. This is the 3rd of five oppositions between these planets that will be occurring until the summer (July) of 2010. The effects will ripple throughout humanity.
So the planet of change (Uranus), independence, and disruption is opposing the planet of order (Saturn), stability, and rules. Challenge to those in authority and shaking up the status quo is in the works. Certainly the word change has been used liberally throughout all of the discussions pertaining to the elections and now Mr. Obama’s presidency! The benefit to this transit is that new solutions will be found to old problems. My favorite saying that could define this time: “The true definition of insanity; is doing the same thing over & over and expecting different results”. BTW, children & certainly teenagers may challenge authority more during this time. Knowing what you know, try to be patient; they are not immune to planetary influences!
In relationships, feelings of independence vs. commitment may be felt. Your partner may suddenly suggest doing something different than the normal routine. Be careful how you travel, drive, or walk around because Uranus rules accidents and Saturn falls…and of course, we are still in the middle of Mercury Retrograde. We may also hear of earthquakes, or volcanic eruptions (especially affecting coastal areas, maybe even a tsunami). Recent examples are the earthquakes that took place in
Later in the day, we will experience another planetary opposition when Venus in Leo will oppose Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 5:37pm EST). Idealism, love, & escapism all rolled up into one big rose-colored package! It is possible to meet charming people (or to be charming ourselves) around this time so, wait until another day before serious declarations of love or before signing on the dotted line! Creativity, music, art, films, etc. will be favored.
Wednesday (9/16/09)- Overnight, Venus in Leo will form an annoying quincunx with Uranus (R) in Pisces (exact at 12:48pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Time to go with the flow! This is a good time to “surprise” you romantic partner with a nice gesture. You could also have a “surprise” financially; this could mean that you unexpectedly got a bonus OR are overdrawn on your checking account! Just after the Moon in Leo will form a stressful, monthly opposition with the triple conjunction (Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune) (exact between 12:50am-10:37am EST). Feelings may be intense this morning. It’s possible that we could get a bit carried away with our emotions around this time. It is best to work alone, because interactions with groups of people will be unfavorable. Old pains or hurts may resurface. Prophetic or “visitation” dreams are possible while sleeping. Children or those that are younger may be challenging to deal with around this time. Then, the Moon in Leo forms an annoying quincunx with Uranus (R) in Pisces (exact at 11:12am EST). This is a time where someone around you may challenge tradition. You may also want to buck the system. An expected event or surprise could catch you off-guard.
In the afternoon, the Moon will conjunct Venus both in Leo (exact at 12:10pm EST). We will want to experience love on a visceral level. This is a great time to: pamper ourselves, decorate, shop (because we will have an “eye” for things that look good), artistic endeavors, creativity, and be in the company of loved ones. Sometimes this transit can have us feeling a little indolent; it is actually a favored time for finances. This will start an 8 hour void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until 7:56pm EST when the Moon shifts into detail oriented Virgo. Words and phrases to describe Virgo are: “I Analyze!”, Mutable/Earth, detail oriented, perfection, service, criticism, conscientious, health, intelligent, analytical, worry, improvement to others lives, and practical. It is associated with the abdominal area, gastrointestinal system (large and small intestines), spleen, solar plexus, and lower lobes of the liver. All of these themes will be prominent in the next 2 &1/2 days….
Later in the evening, the Moon in Virgo will form a flowing trine to Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 9:01pm EST). This will greatly assist us in processing our emotions and is beneficial for all types of counseling & cathartic experiences. It will be hard to be superficial around this time. Both Virgo & Capricorn are earth signs, so this is a good time for gardening or connecting with nature. Lastly, the Sun in Virgo will form an annoying quincunx with nebulous Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 9:17pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.
Thursday (9/17/09)- We start the day with the Sun in Virgo will forming it’s annual, stressful opposition with Uranus (R) in Pisces (exact at 5:41am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. In the early morning we may experience some obstacles with communication or receive some unexpected news. It may be difficult to act on this new information. There may also be small glitches with technology or travel. We could experience a block or feel uninspired. It is also possible to have trouble with someone older or in authority around this transit. People with anxiety, nervous conditions, palpitations or other conditions affecting the electrical system of the body may have trouble around this transit. Then, Mercury (R) in Libra will form an uncomfortable square with intense Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 7:46am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. It may be harder to access deeper thoughts around this time. This is actually a better time for superficial activities. Keep things light! Not a good time to do research or to “dig below the surface”. Another scenario is that outside influences could affect you and you may need to change how you think about a situation. Adjustment (on your part) may be needed to come out on the winning end. Verbal sparring or debates could end in disastrous results. Others won’t want to back down right now. People may have trouble reconciling “relationship time” vs. “work time”. Just go with the flow right now.
In the afternoon, the Sun will form it’s annual conjunction with Saturn both in Virgo (exact at 2:22pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. This transit gives us disciple and helps us to tackle projects. If there has been something that you have been avoiding (like an organizational) project, now is the time! There is a reason that Saturn’s nickname is the “task master”. This would also be an excellent day to start a diet or other health regime. It will help us to get along better with father figures or male authority figures too. People may be in a more serious mood around this time. Next, the Moon in Virgo will form a positive sextile with Mars in Cancer (exact at 10:38pm). As with all Mars transits, I recommend doing something physical or exercising around this time (the energy will need a constructive outlet). Sexuality can be enhanced around this transit. Our feelings will be in alignment with how we act. Make sure to put your actions toward positive pursuits!
Speaking of Virgo, Mercury (R) (the ruler of communication & transportation) will transition back from Libra into its native sign of Virgo (exact at 11:26pm EST). Its metal is Mercury. Stones: Jade, Moss Agate, and Blue Sapphire. If you remember, Mercury was in Virgo before it went Retrograde between 8/2-8/25/09. Think back, did anything happen for you during that time-frame? It may just resurface again. During the next 3+ weeks, our mental processes will become more serious, detail-oriented, thorough, and service minded. Sometimes this can cause analysis-paralysis. It is important that we don’t lose site of the big picture, while we are conscious of all the small details. We also may find that we become more health conscious and will be thinking more about the food & vitamins that we put into our bodies. This is a good time to learn something new and will be more apt to be thorough in your studies. Mercury will conclude its Retrograde period on 9/29/09 and will transition back into diplomatic Libra on 10/9/09.
Friday (9/18/09)- New Moon! There will be 7 Moon transits today. Just remember these are not as potent as planetary transits and are short lived.
We start the day with the Moon in Virgo forming quincunxes with the triple conjunction (Jupiter, Chiron, & Neptune) (exact between 1:47am-11:52am EST). Quincunxes usually present in the form of obstacles or delays. This is a time where you could feel disconnected from the group. Someone could challenge your beliefs around this time. Our optimism or self-confidence may be a little low. This is not a time to rely on luck. Don’t worry, this will be temporary!
In the afternoon, the Moon will make its monthly opposition to Uranus (R) in Pisces (exact at 12:25pm EST). This is not an ideal time to break from the tried and true. Even with the best of intentions to stick with details & organization, an outside event may steer you in a different direction. Just after, the Moon conjuncts Saturn both in Virgo (exact at 1:17pm EST). This will be the most grounding influence that occurs today! This is an all work no play transit. Best to concentrate on: work, organization, gardening/planting (connecting with nature in general especially soil, woods, & forest), and details. This would also be an ideal time to start a new health or exercise regime. Sometimes this can give us a feeling of loneliness or isolation (or even the blues). Then, in the afternoon, the New Moon in Virgo will be at its height (exact at 2:44pm EST). All Virgo Moon themes will apply. The New Moon is good for new ideas, new projects, and manifesting.
The Moon will conjunct Mercury (R) both in Virgo (exact at 7:56pm EST) assisting with communication, short distance travel, and feeling supported by others. This is an ideal time to read, watch a documentary, tour a museum, work on puzzles, etc. In other words, expand your intellect! This will start a short void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into diplomatic Libra (exact at 9:26pm EST). Activities that are favorable during a Libra Moon are: fairness, beauty (did I say beauty?), partnerships, joint enterprise, aesthetics, harmony, graciousness, cooperation, justice, peace, and romance. Things to avoid are: indecision, dependence, fickle, and lying (to avoid confrontation). Libras make great judges and counselors because they are often able to see both sides. Its physical associations are: the kidneys, lumbar area of the back, buttocks and adrenal glands. All of these themes will be accentuated during the next 2 ½ days. Lastly, the Moon in Libra will square intense Pluto (R) Capricorn (exact at 10:34pm EST) possibly throwing a speed bump in our path. Someone could know how to push our buttons and really get under our skin. Luckily, the Moon in Libra will give us diplomacy (even when we need to politely put them in their place).
Saturday (9/19/09)- At last, a quiet day! The only Moon transit takes place late at night, when the Moon in Libra will form an uncomfortable square with Mars in Cancer (exact at 11:45pm). As with all Mars transits, I recommend doing something physical or exercising around this time (gardening, housework, working on the car, etc. all count!). Sexuality can be enhanced around this transit. Did you ever have a moment where circumstances seem like they are conspiring against you? Often, this transit results in a culmination of things that can be annoying. Sometimes small irritations or quarrels can result.
Mark your calendars! Fall equinox (Sun moves into Libra) next Tues 9/22/09…..
The above transits are often felt collectively but you would need to know where within your chart that they would fall. As always, I am available for a professional astrological reading. I now have a variety of charts to choose from (relationship, life path, time-line, etc). I can do readings in-person or over the phone. Or if you’re not into having a reading I can just supply a chart. Please feel free to contact me for more information! Have a great week! Bye for now……
