Astro-Update! Mars on the prowl & Venus into Libra! Week of 8/1/10

I hope this Blog entry finds you well! Like I mentioned in my last Blog entry, this week is going to continue being busy. On Sunday, Venus will aspect the Sun possibly causing a strain on relationships. Monday will consist of all Moon transits. Tuesday there will be a repeat of Jupiter squaring Pluto (power in beliefs). Wednesday and Friday by far are the busiest days this week. On Wednesday, Mars will continue to aspect the Cardinal t-square and this time it will be highlighting Jupiter and Pluto. Yikes!...Talk about the tendency to over-do things. Thursday will be all Moon transits. Friday will involve Venus aspecting Chiron and then moving into Libra. Saturday Venus will begin to aspect the T-Square when she opposes Uranus. Again, we need to be careful how we handle relations with others. Fairness will be back in style! Enjoy your week!

I wanted to add a footnote to my entries. I include the time that a transit will be exact so that you can see when it waxes and then when it starts to wane. However, the effects are often felt sometimes even as long as a day or two. The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after. Keep in mind that Moon transits tend to last a shorter period of time than planetary transits.

(Sunday 8/1/10)- The astrological day starts later when the Moon in Aries will form an annoying quincunx with Venus in Virgo (exact at 5:28pm EST) possibly causing a monkey wrench in the love department. It could be that the object of our affections is somewhat inaccessible around time…. unfortunately the same could be true with our finances too! Double-check your bank account before making a big purchase. Then, Venus in Virgo will form an awkward semisquare to Sun in Leo (exact at 9:49pm EST) influencing us to question love and finances. Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. This would not be an ideal time to make purchases (especially big ones). What we value may be tested. Although it is a good time to be with friends and loved ones, try to avoid too much intensity. Demanding commitments now could backfire. Next, the Moon in Aries forming a positive sextile to Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 11:54pm EST) causing our imagination/creativity to soar. This transit is also beneficial for daydreaming, idealism, intuition, romance, music, poetry, abstract ideas, mysticism, etc. It is possible to be more charming around this transit. Anyone have rose-colored glasses? If you are sleeping while this event occurs, it may be possible to have prophetic or “visitation” dreams around this time. This will start a 4+ our void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the tomorrow when the Moon transitions into stabile Taurus. When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet, before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”. It is best to not do anything new during these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have delays.

(Monday 8/2/10)- There will be all Moon transits today. Keep in mind that Lunar transits are shorter in duration than planetary transits. It starts when the Moon in Aries forms a positive sextile with (the “Wounded Healer”) Chiron (R) in Aquarius (exact at 3:08am EST). You may be presented with an opportunity to heal or to be healed. Holistic and alternative medicine is especially favored. Serendipitous moments abound! The Moon transitions into Taurus (exact at 4:13am EST). Positive Taurus Moon activities are: focusing on organizing your finances, clipping coupons, decorating, designing, sensuality, cooking & eating luscious foods, organizing your home, massage, singing, and comfort. Try to avoid: laziness, relaxing too much, stubbornness, obstinacy and being too stuck in your ways. These will be the lunar themes over the next 2 days. The Moon will then highlight the Mars/Saturn conjunction that occurred last Saturday when the Moon in Taurus forms an annoying quincunx with Saturn in Libra (exact at 6:11am EST). It may be hard to complete everything on our “list” or to get organized. It’s also possible that our emotions could make it hard to work around this time. Luckily, this influence will be short. Next, the Moon in Taurus makes an annoying quincunx to Mars in Libra (exact at 8:24am EST). Did you ever meet someone that says something that is completely different than how they actually act? For instance: you went out on a date, the person says that they had a fantastic time, and then they never called you? This type of disconnect (coming from yourself or coming from others) may be more pronounced around this time. The Moon in Taurus will form a flowing trine to Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 10:28am EST). This will greatly assist us in processing our emotions and is beneficial for all types of counseling & cathartic experiences. It will be hard to be superficial around this time. Both Taurus & Capricorn are earth signs, so this is a good time for gardening or connecting with nature.

Later, the Moon in Taurus makes a flowing trine to Mercury in Virgo (exact at 6:44pm EST). This transit will assist us to express how we feel. It will be much easier to speak with friends and loved ones during this time. We may have an urge to be social around this transit and it is highly beneficial for all kinds of relationships.

(Tuesday 8/3/10)- I will be doing Astrological Readings at Spirit Dancer today between 2-5pm(I take my last reading at 5pm). This is a great opportunity to get an introductory reading from me at a discount. They are located at 125 S. Winooski Ave in Burlington, VT (across from the fire station). Walk-ins are welcome or you can call me for a time. The store’s number is 802-660-8060.

Most of the cosmic activity will occur in the early hours of the day. However, the Jupiter/Pluto square is a long lasting transit and we may feel that one for a week or two. Just after midnight, the Sun in Leo will form an uncomfortable square with the Moon in Taurus (exact at 12:59am EST). So, toward late last night to early morning we may experience some tension between friends or loved ones. This won’t be conducive to feeling very supported. Sometimes this transit brings (minor) squabbles. Then, Jupiter (R) in Aries will form a uncomfortable square with Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 1:32am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. (The effect of this may be felt up to a week or two.) Yes, Jupiter is now involved in the Cardinal T-Square or “Cardinal Climax’ as it is being referred to by some astrologers. This is a complex astrological pattern between Uranus/ Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto that will occur from 2010-2015…and Mars has now temporarily gotten into the mix. Power in beliefs! Now is the time to have faith and inspire others. There can be a lot of power in words…especially if you are selling something. Be honest in your dealings, otherwise you may get “called out”. This is not a good time for underhanded tactics. This is not a favorable time for law/legal matters, foreign affairs, or travel. This is a good time to ask yourself…What are my beliefs? Am I open minded? Did I base my opinions on what someone else said/wrote? Is there another way to look at my position? Of course, the downside to all of this is that we could encounter fanatical beliefs, opinions, or religious convictions around this time. As with all Pluto transits, great transformation can take place…so harness this energy for the positive! The remainder of the day will be under the influence of the Taurus Moon. There will be a lot of planetary energy tomorrow, which I am sure we will start to feel during the day today…

(Wednesday 8/7/10)- Today will be a very busy astrological day. There will be 8 Moon transits; 5 out of the 8 will be positive. Keep in mind that Lunar transits are shorter in duration than planetary transits. Then there will be 3 planetary transits (the Moon is simply highlighting most of these transits). Those 3 planetary transits will not be as easy-going. With Mars involved in 3 transits today, we could encounter some aggressive attitudes. We could hear (more) about: fires, explosions, war, sports, and fighting around this time. With this much planetary energy, it would be a good idea to work on grounding and trying to remain balanced. Meditation or yoga would be a good idea too.

Just after midnight, Mars in Libra will make a stressful opposition with Jupiter (R) in Aries (exact at 12:20am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Use caution with over spending, over confidence, and taking unnecessary risks with this transit. Place your energy into positive pursuits. We could have the tendency to “make mountains out of molehills” with this one. This is not a good time to rely purely on luck. Group endeavors may go poorly. Just after, Mars in Libra will form an uncomfortable square with Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 12:58am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. So what happens when the God of War forms an uncomfortable liaison with the Lord of the Underworld? Keep things light! Outside influences could affect you and you may need to change your position or how you react to it. Adjustment (on your part) may be needed to come out on the winning end of the situation. Anger or aggression may be prevalent around this time (remember what I always say about Mars energy?). Now is not the time for big actions or reactions. Keep it subdued (if possible). Try to keep things positive….just remember that Pluto is the great transformer. Then, Moon in Taurus forms a flowing trine with Venus in Virgo (exact at 7:49am EST). You could find your thoughts with friends or loved ones. It is possible to receive a compliment on how you look. Love, beauty, art, creativity, and aesthetics will be favored (and because of this reason, shopping too). Pamper yourself! Next, the Moon in Taurus forms an uncomfortable square with Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 8:44am) telling us to not believe everything we are told. Illusion, escapism and deception will be prevalent. On the positive side, creativity will be high around this transit. If you are sleeping while this event occurs, it may be possible to have prophetic or “visitation” dreams around this time. This will start a 4+ void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into chatty Gemini. The Moon in Taurus forms an uncomfortable square with Chiron (R) in Aquarius (exact at 11:41am EST). Past issues may resurface at this time. It may be possible to run into someone that will tell you how to do something (even if they have never done it themselves….annoying!).

In the afternoon, the Moon transitions into chatty Gemini (exact at 12:54pm EST). Good Gemini Moon activities are: communication (including talking, emailing, faxing, writing, etc), working with your hands, interaction with others (especially siblings and teachers), learning something new, diversified interests, mental agility, inquisitiveness, travel, and reading. Things to avoid are: fickleness, information overload, starting too many things & not being able to finish them, hyper activity, talking too much, and indecisiveness. These are all themes that will last the next 2 ½ days. Next, the Moon in Gemini will form a positive sextile with Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 1:21pm EST) helping us to break out of our rut and even do something that may be somewhat unconventional. Technology (like computers), inventing, New Aged ideologies, and friendships are favored around this transit. Then, the Moon in Gemini will make a flowing trine to Saturn in Libra (exact at 3:09pm EST). This is a great time for organization, house cleaning, filing, recycling, and being disciplined. This is also beneficial for starting a diet or health regimen (like quitting smoking). Sometimes others will ask for help around this transit, but it won’t be burdensome, we will be happy to assist! Then, the Moon in Gemini makes a positive sextile with Jupiter (R) in Aries (exact at 6:38pm EST) helping us to feel optimistic and/or lucky. This is an ideal time to be with friends or to work with a group of people. It is also beneficial for spirituality/religion, higher or continuing education, horses, law/legal matters, advertising, sales, and publishing. Just after, the Moon in Gemini will make an annoying quincunx with powerful Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 6:42pm EST). Certainly this can bring up jealousy issues, power struggles, hidden fears, and obsessions. It is best to keep things a little superficial. This transit could cause frustrations on blending work and family time (especially if you have children). Just after that, Venus in Virgo forms an annoying quincunx with Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 6:57pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Looking for the truth? Try another time. It is usually hard to swim through the murky waters that Neptune creates. Idealism, love, & escapism all rolled up into one big rose-colored package! It will be hard to take off our blinders around this transit, so wait until another day before serious declarations of love or before signing on the dotted line! Creativity, music, art, films, etc. will be favored. Dreams tonight may be prophetic or sentimental. We end the day on a high note, when the Moon in Taurus forms a flowing trine with Mars in Libra (exact at 7:36pm EST). Our actions will be in harmony with how we feel. We may crave action around this time or have more energy. People will be inclined to fight for what they believe is right.

(Thursday 8/5/10)- Although today looks like an astrologically quiet day, this is a good time to remind you that the energy of planetary transits doesn’t dissipate overnight. This day is sandwiched in between two cosmically active days. In the morning, the Moon in Gemini will go onto make an annoying square to Mercury in Virgo (exact at 7:23am EST). Ironically, the planet Mercury rules both Virgo and Gemini. This transit will normally cause miscommunication, but with Mercury’s involvement it will be doubly so! So use caution in how you communicate with others.

In the afternoon, the Moon in Gemini will positively sextile the Sun in Leo (exact at 12:35pm EST). This is an ideal time to be with friends & loved ones. This transit is conducive for feeling supported. Maybe it’s time to do something nice for your sweetheart?

(Friday 8/6/10)- Today will be a very busy astrological day. There will be 7 Moon transits; 2 out of the 8 will be positive. Keep in mind that Lunar transits are shorter in duration than planetary transits. The Moon will be (negatively) highlighting the Cardinal t-square. Venus will be getting into the mix when she highlights Chiron then transitions into her native sign of Libra. This will bring focus to relations with others. Again, with this much planetary energy, it would be a good idea to work on grounding and trying to remain balanced. Meditation or yoga would be a good idea too.

In the morning, Venus in Virgo will form an annoying quincunx with Chiron (R) in Aquarius (exact at 6:17am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. This could bring up past pains & past loves. Use this time to heal old wounds. You may find yourself giving relationship advice to others around this transit (even if your relationships have been unsuccessful).

In the afternoon, the Moon in Gemini will form a flowing trine to Neptune (R) in Aquarius (exact at 1:51pm EST) causing our imagination/creativity to soar. This transit is also beneficial for daydreaming, idealism, intuition, romance, music, poetry, abstract ideas, mysticism, etc. It is possible to be more charming (or to meet charming people) around this transit. (I wouldn’t make a big decision around this time). Then, the Moon in Gemini will form a flowing trine with (the “Wounded Healer”) Chiron (R) in Aquarius (exact at 4:31pm EST). You may be presented with an opportunity to heal or to be healed. Holistic and alternative medicine is especially favored. Serendipitous moments abound! Next, the Moon in Gemini will square Venus in Aquarius (exact at 5:22pm EST). Although we will have a drive to be with others around this time, it would be best to avoid heavy conversations pertaining to love. Sometimes the object of our affections is just out of reach (or otherwise detained) around this transit. The is not a good time to go shopping or work on beautification because what we think looks good now may seem like a bad idea at a later time. This will begin a short void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into domestic Cancer (exact at 5:50pm EST). Good Cancer Moon activities are: anything to do with home and family, cooking, maternal/mothering, being emotional, crafts, sensitivity, empathy, finances, savings, and care-taking. Things to avoid are: holding grudges, feeling slighted (possibly with little or no cause), over sensitivity, emotional eating, stubbornness, and being grumpy. All of these themes will be highlighted over the next 2 ½ days. Just after, the Moon in Cancer uncomfortably squares Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 6:09pm EST). This is a time where someone around you may challenge tradition. You may also want to buck the system. An unexpected event or surprise could catch you off-guard. It is possible to experience issues with technology or mechanical issues. Then, the Moon in Cancer will form an uncomfortable square with Saturn in Libra (exact at 8:17pm EST). Luckily the duration of this event is short. Sometimes this can give us a feeling of loneliness or isolation. We may feel passed over or possibly not getting the recognition that we deserve. It is better to work on organization around this time. Then, the Moon in Cancer will form an uncomfortable square with Jupiter (R) in Aries (exact at 11:01pm EST). Someone could challenge your beliefs at this time. It’s possible that you could find out someone within your group has been acting behind your back or is at odds with the greater good. Dealings with groups of people or legal matters are unfavorable around this time. Just after, the Moon in Cancer will form its monthly opposition to Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 11:10m EST). This can signify a (short) period of intensity. Someone could challenge you in an area where you are sensitive. Another possibility is that you may spend too much time analyzing instead of acting. Avoid underhanded tactics because someone will be more apt to notice.

Lastly, Venus (ruler of love, art, beauty & finances) will travel into its native sign of diplomatic Libra (exact at 11:47pm EST). Words and phrases to describe Libra are: “I Balance!”, Cardinal/Air, fairness, beauty (did I say Beauty?), partnership, aesthetics, creativity, harmony, indecision, dependence, fickle, and gracious. Libras make great judges because they are often able to see both sides. Its physical association are the kidneys, lumbar area of the back, buttocks and adrenal glands. Its metal is Copper. Stones: Quartz, Marble, Peridot, Lapis Lazuli, Opal, and Rose Quartz. We just moved through a period of time when Venus was in the perfectionist sign of Virgo. We might have put our relationships with others under a microscope and been a little more critical than normal. However, with Venus in its native sign of Libra (it will be joining the Mars & Saturn also in Libra), love will be back in style! We will become more relationship oriented, diplomatic, and fair. Libra’s (generally) hate to be alone, and do much better if they are in a relationship or if they live with someone else (it does not have to have romantic ties). Therefore, if you are single, you may be thinking about connecting with another around this time. For couples in a relationship, it would be a great time to bring some romance back into the relationship. Libra is famous for its indecision they will often vacillate for a long time before finally making a decision. We may be more fickle with our love (or even financial) interests around this time. We won’t enjoy confrontation and may even tell small white lies to avoid it. Certainly we will have a deeper appreciation for love, art, and beauty over the next month! If you work in the arts or a job that requires creativity; then you may be “in the zone” right now. It depends where Venus/Libra falls within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level. Venus will transition into the passionate sign of Scorpio on 9/8/10.

(Saturday 8/7/10)- Overnight, the Moon in Cancer will form an uncomfortable square with Mars in Libra (exact at 2:27am EST). As with all Mars transits, I recommend doing something physical or exercising around this time (gardening, housework, working on the car, etc. all count!). Sexuality can be enhanced around this transit. Did you ever have a moment where circumstances seem like they are conspiring against you? Often, this transit results in a culmination of things that can be annoying. Sometimes small irritations or quarrels can result. Then, Venus will start aspecting the Cardinal T-Square when Venus in Libra will form its annual opposition with Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 3:59am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. In astrology, oppositions are considered to be a stressful transit. Time to go with the flow! Positively, it is possible that an exciting creative person or project suddenly comes into your life creating a little tension. This is a good time to “surprise” you romantic partner with a nice gesture. On the negative side, you could experience an unexpected revelation about your romantic partner or they may do something that seems very out of character. We are more inclined to be fickle around this transit and will feel a strong pull toward being independent. You could also have a “surprise” financially; this could mean that you unexpectedly got a bonus OR are overdrawn on your checking account!

In the afternoon, the Moon in Cancer will form a positive sextile to Mercury in Virgo (exact at 2:46pm EST). This will make us want to reach out to friends and family to chat. This transit helps with the flow of communication. It will be easier to express how we feel around this transit. This will begin a long 16+ hour void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until tomorrow night when the Moon transitions into Leo. Lastly, the Sun in Leo will form a slightly uncomfortable sesquisquare with Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 3:03pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Later in the day, we may receive some unexpected news. It may be difficult to act on this new information. There may also be small glitches with technology or travel. It’s possible that we may just be restless around this time. Emotions are just under the surface.

Mark your calendars! Next week, New Moon in Leo on Mon (8/9) and Uranus returns to Pisces Fri (8/13)!

The above transits are often felt collectively but you would need to know where within your chart that they would fall. As always, I am available for a professional astrological reading. I now have a variety of charts to choose from (relationship, life path, time-line, etc). I can do readings in-person or over the phone. Or if you’re not into having a reading I can just supply a chart. Please feel free to contact me for more information! Have a great week! Bye for now……
