I wanted to add a footnote to my entries. I include the time that a transit will be exact so that you can see when it waxes and then when it starts to wane. However, the effects are often felt sometimes even as long as a day or two (or longer). The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after. Keep in mind that Moon transits tend to last a shorter period of time than planetary transits.
(Sunday 3/20/11)- Spring Equinox & International Astrology Day!
The Moon in Libra will square intense Pluto in Capricorn (exact at 3:37am EST) possibly throwing a speed bump in our path. Someone could know how to push our buttons and really get under our skin. It is important to have good boundaries with others and remember not to overstep yours. Then, Mercury in Aries will form a slightly uncomfortable semisquare with the “Wounded Healer” Chiron in Pisces (exact at 7:01am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. Past memories may come flooding in around this time. Reminiscing? Forgiveness (or the need to forgive) often accompanies this transit. This can increase sensitivity, so please choose your words carefully. Next, the Moon in Libra makes a stressful opposition with Jupiter in Aries (exact at 11:22am EST). Sometimes this can zap our self-confidence. Conversely, we could also feel a little too confident and over state our abilities (possibly over promising). Just remember you won’t always feel this way and there are only so many hours in a day….it is OK to say no!
In the afternoon, the Moon forms its monthly conjunction with Saturn (R) both in Libra (exact at 3:27pm EST). This is an all work no play transit. Best to concentrate on: work, organization, BALANCE, joint enterprises, goal setting, and details. This would also be an ideal time to start a new health or exercise regime. Build foundations in relationships. Sometimes this can give us a feeling of loneliness or isolation (or even the blues). Then, Venus in Aquarius will form a slightly uncomfortable semisquare with powerful Pluto in Capricorn (exact at 6:50pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. This one could bring love/passion up close and personal. It could take the form of sexual tension, teasing in the form of flirtation (remember those school days?), jealousy (an unhealthy form of passion), etc. Pluto brings intensity and there is a possibly of obsessing (or being too intense) about love/finances. We may be able to look below the surface and discover things about ourselves, others, or even our finances that we may have over-looked or not noticed previously. If the energies are harnessed properly, there could be true transformation in these areas. The Spring Equinox officially starts when the Sun travels into the 1st sign of the zodiac, Aries (exact at 7:21pm EST). Many cultures and religions celebrate the spring equinox in a variety of different ways. The key word for this time of year is AWKENING! It’s interesting to me that we instinctively start to spring clean during this time. Using some principles of feng shui, this is an excellent to time remove dead energy from your space. This includes: cleaning closets, getting rid of clutter, making sure that corners are free from debris, and getting rid of dead & dried flowers. Treat yourself to fresh flowers, bulbs and seeds. This is a great time to start clearing leaves & branches from your garden or yard. Burn red or white candles in your home (Aries colors). Use fragrances like: lavender, lilac, lily of the valley, geranium, ginger and honey suckle. When preparing meals concentrate on fresh vegetables, leafy greens, seeds, and sprouts. The Chinese consider the rabbit to represent the spring equinox, fertility, and the beginning of a new life cycle. Adding a small rabbit figurine to an area of your house (like bedroom if you want to get pregnant, or a home office if you would like to bring change to your business, etc) would be beneficial. Lastly, I usually have a smudging ceremony (by burning white sage) in my home, where I open all the doors and windows and I send out prayers to humanity. All of these things will increase your energy and help to clear mental “clutter”. Happy Spring!
So getting back to Aries…This is a pioneering sign and is associated with courageous spirits and new beginnings. Aries people are great at starting things but not so good at finishing nor taking care of small details. We are moving away from the past month spent being lost in watery emotions (Pisces) and are entering a time that will be faced with straight forward honesty. You see, an Aries will tell you like they see it…whether you like that or not. Aries is the 1st sign of the zodiac and is ruled by Mars (the God of War). If you have been reading my Blog, you will know that Mars energy needs to get out one way or another. This may be why Aries’ tend to be athletic and have trouble sitting still. I won’t sugar coat this; a bored or unhappy Aries can be quite grumpy. They are known for their quick tempers. If you reference the list of famous Aries below; there are some difficult personalities. On the positive side over the next month, we may be more: adventurous, competitive, gallant, physical, and daring. Much like Leo, an Aries hates to see someone or something (that they consider to be weaker than themselves) get hurt. Often Aries will rush in and try to “save” the situation by being the hero or heroine. They are natural leaders and when they handle that responsibility with pride and grace (not dictatorship) they can really accomplish something positive. It depends where the Sun/Aries falls within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level. There are now 4 planets in Aries: the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus. Famous Aries are: Linda Goodman (famous Astrologer), Betty Davis, Alec Baldwin, Eddie Murphy, Mariah Carey, Jackie Chan, Russell Crowe, Shannen Doherty, Rosie O’Donnell, Robert Downey Jr., Joan Crawford, Tom Clancy, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Thomas Jefferson, Ashley Judd, Lucy Lawless, Elton John, Conan O'Brien, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, William Shatner, Robin Wright Penn, Gary Oldman, Gloria Steinem, Hugh Hefner, Vincent Van Gogh, Kate Husdon, David Letterman, Christopher Walken, Quentin Tarantino, Norah Jones, Maya Angelou, Leonardo DaVinci, and Billie Holiday.
Lastly, the Moon in Libra making its monthly opposition with Mercury in Aries (exact at 8:47pm EST). You may find that you are not able to express yourself as easily or someone may cut you off from saying something. It will be hard to put your thoughts into words. This is a time where someone may oppose your thoughts or feelings. The key is to integrate the two (thoughts & emotions), although it may not be easy.
(Monday 3/21/11)- Today will be an astrologically busy Lunar day. The one exception being the Sun’s conjunction with Uranus. As I stated when Uranus moved into Aries back on 3/11 (see that Blog entry for more details), time to expect the unexpected. With all of the current unrest that is occurring in the world at this time….this transit makes me a little nervous. One of the “visions’ that I had of this time-frame was of explosions. I held back from stating that previously because I don’t want to be known for being a doom & gloom astrologer. It seems however to be a prophetic vision. Things will also pick up in intensity after the Moon transitions into Scorpio.
Just after midnight, the Moon in Libra makes an annoying quincunx to Mars in Pisces (exact at 12:20am EST). Did you ever meet someone that says something that is completely different than how they actually act? For instance: you went out on a date, the person says that they had a fantastic time, and then they never called you? This type of disconnect (coming from yourself or coming from others) may be more pronounced around this time. Then, the Moon in Libra forms a flowing trine with Venus in Aquarius (exact at 3:54am EST). You could find your thoughts with friends or loved ones. It is possible to receive a compliment on how you look. Love, beauty, art, creativity, and aesthetics will be favored (and because of this reason, shopping too). Pamper yourself! Then, the Sun will conjunct Uranus in Aries (exact at 8:24am EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit. We will feel the need to break out of our normal routines and do something different toady. Uranus is the planet of disruptions, surprises and unexpected events. People with anxiety, nervous conditions, palpitations or other conditions affecting the electrical system of the body may have trouble around this transit. We may be drawn to the avant-garde or unusual around this time. Are you normally a rebel and buck against authority? This transit helps to make that easier; so that you won’t step on as many toes. If not, do something “crazy” that you normally wouldn’t do for yourself…..you have blessings from the planets!
In the afternoon, the Moon in Libra will form a flowing trine to Neptune in Aquarius (exact at 2:35pm EST) causing our imagination/creativity to soar. This transit is also beneficial for daydreaming, idealism, intuition, romance, music, poetry, abstract ideas, mysticism, etc. It is possible to be more charming (or to meet charming people) around this transit. (I wouldn’t make a big decision around this time). This will also be the beginning of a short void of course cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into passionate Scorpio Moon. When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet, before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”. It is best to not do anything new during these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have delays. The Moon will transition into intense Scorpio (exact at 4:29am EST). Favorable Scorpio Moon activities are: anything related to research, occult, detective work, self-discovery, digging below the surface (both figural & literal), passion, mysteries, secrets, etc. Things that are not favored or exacerbated during the Moon in Scorpio are: jealousy, anger, intensity, and surgery (it can delay healing time). These will be themes over the next 2 ½ days. Next, the Moon in Scorpio forms an annoying quincunx with Uranus in Aries (exact at 4:10pm EST). This is a time where someone around you may challenge tradition. You may also want to buck the system. An unexpected event or surprise could catch you off-guard. The Moon in Scorpio will form an annoying quincunx with the Sun in Aries (exact at 4:42pm EST). It may be hard to feel supported around this time. Accomplishments may go unrecognized. It is possible to clash with someone younger than yourself (like a parent child relationship). Lastly, the Moon in Scorpio will form a flowing trine with Chiron (the “Wounded Healer”) in Pisces (exact at 7:41pm EST). You may be presented with an opportunity to heal or to be healed. Holistic and alternative medicine is especially favored. Serendipitous moments abound!
(Tuesday 3/22/11)- I will be doing Astrological Readings at Spirit Dancer today between 3-6pm **Please note the time change** (I take my last reading at 5:30pm). This is a great opportunity to get an introductory reading from me at a discount-$30 ½ hr. They are located at 125 S. Winooski Ave in Burlington, VT (across from the fire station). Walk-ins are welcome or you can call me for a time. The store’s number is 802-660-8060.
Today there will be 2 Moon transits. Keep in mind that Lunar transits are shorter in duration than planetary transits. Overnight, the Moon in Scorpio will make a supportive sextile to Pluto in Capricorn (exact at 3:14am EST). This will be a favorable time to look below the surface and have in-depth conversations or counseling. This is a time that we could be feeling passionate or intense. This transit will amplify the Scorpio Lunar traits.
In the afternoon, the Moon in Scorpio will quincunx Jupiter in Aries (exact at 12:05pm EST). This is a time where you could feel disconnected from the group. Someone could challenge your beliefs around this time. Our optimism or self-confidence may be a little low. This is not a time to rely on luck. Don’t worry, this will be temporary! The remainder of the day will be under the influence of the Scorpio Moon…
The remainder of the week is currently under construction, so please check back!!
The above transits are often felt collectively but you would need to know where within your chart that they would fall. As always, I am available for a professional astrological reading. I now have a variety of charts to choose from (relationship, life path, time-line, etc). I can do readings in-person, over the phone, or via Skype. Or if you’re not into having a reading, I can just supply a chart. Please feel free to contact me for more information! Have a great week! Bye for now……
