Coming Up: Pluto turns Direct in Capricorn on 9/18/12!

Keep in mind while you read this Blog that I include the time that a transit will be exact so that you can see when it waxes and then when it starts to wane.  The effects of a transit are often felt as long as a day or two (or even longer).  The energy is usually felt more strongly during the time leading up to the height and then it slowly starts to dissipate after.  It’s important to remember that Moon transits tend to last a shorter period of time than planetary transits.  I will no longer be including every transit that occurs, but rather highlighting the most dominant transit (to make the Blog a little easier to read, in response to reader feedback!).

(Sunday 9/16/12)-   Today may have a slow or dragging quality. The majority of planetary and Moon transits are working against progress. Early in the day the Moon will shift into Libra and will also form a chatty conjunction with Mercury. So unless you're an early riser, it will be best to wait until another day to see forward motion. The Moon will transition into diplomatic Libra (exact at 8:55am EST).  Activities that are favorable during a Libra Moon are: fairness, beauty (did I say beauty?), partnerships, joint enterprise, aesthetics, harmony, graciousness, cooperation, justice, peace, and romance.  Things to avoid are: indecision, dependence, fickle, and lying (to avoid confrontation).  Libras make great judges and counselors because they are often able to see both sides.  Its physical associations are: the kidneys, lumbar area of the back, buttocks and adrenal glands.  All of these themes will be accentuated during the next 2 ½ days.

In the evening, Mercury (the ruler of communication & transportation) will transition into diplomatic Libra (exact at 7:22pm EST).  Words and phrases to describe Libra are: “I Balance!”, Cardinal/Air, fairness, beauty (did I say Beauty?), partnership, aesthetics, harmony, indecision, dependence, fickle, and gracious.  Libras make great judges because they are often able to see both sides.  Creativity in your life!  Its physical associations are the kidneys, lumbar area of the back, buttocks and adrenal glands.  Its metal is Copper & Stones are: Quartz, Marble, Peridot, Lapis Lazuli, Opal, and Rose Quartz.  During the next 2+ weeks, our mental processes will become more relationship oriented, diplomatic, and fair.  This Mercurial phase is beneficial for achieving balance and harmony in communications.  Don’t be fooled, Libras love a good debate (as long as it doesn’t involve shouting or cutting words) and are often skilled at arguing both sides.  Libra is famous for indecision they will often vacillate for a long time before finally making a decision.  Therefore, we may be more fickle with our interests or even develop analysis-paralysis around this time.  We won’t enjoy confrontation and may even tell small white lies to avoid it.  Certainly we will have a deeper appreciation for love, art, and beauty.  This transit can give us an extra smoothness or charm and will be beneficial for anyone that works in public relations, mediation, human resources, law, psychology, or any field where you need to deal with people.  It depends where Libra/Mercury falls within your chart in order to know how this will affect you on a personal level.  Mercury will transition into Scorpio on 10/5/12.  Next, Mars in Scorpio will make an annoying quincunx with Jupiter in Gemini (exact at 8:19pm EST). Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  Use caution with over spending, over confidence, and taking unnecessary risks with this transit.  Place your energy into positive pursuits.  We could have the tendency to “make mountains out of molehills” with this one.  This is not a good time to rely purely on luck.  Group endeavors may go poorly.  Then, later in the evening (around 8:30pm EST) the Moon will square Pluto and oppose Uranus. These contentious Moon transits will be highlighting the larger Uranus/Pluto square that will be coming to a height this Wednesday. Please feel free to refer to that Blog entry for more details.

(Monday 9/17/12)-  Rosh Hashanah.  Mercury moved into the lovely sign of Libra yesterday. As it begins to make its way through the zodiac, it will be form two transits today. Still not a ton of forward movement, but movement never the less…. The astrological day starts early morning when the Moon in Libra will form a positive sextile with Venus in Leo (exact at 4:39am EST).  It is likely that we could receive compliments on how we look or dress.  It will be easy to interact with others.  This transit is positive for both relationships/love and finances.  Then, Mercury in Libra will for an annoying quincunx nebulous Neptune (R) in Pisces (exact at 10:24am EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  Be very careful (especially) with business dealings today.  If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!  Review all fine print closely and if possible put off signing any contracts.  We will want to idealize people/situations around this time.  To put it bluntly, we could be more susceptible to manipulation or someone fibbing to get their way.  We may want to get lost in our thoughts.  Our imagination may be working overtime.  This will give our day a dreamy quality.

In the early evening, Mercury in Libra forms an uncomfortable semisquare with Mars in Scorpio (exact at 6:06pm EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  Think before you speak!  This may cause us to feel restless and fidgety (attention those with ADD or ADHD).  If the energies are harnessed properly, ideas can be brought to fruition.  Things may be moving at a fast pace and may be a little aggressive, so make sure you use patience and don’t skim over details.  Lastly the Moon in Libra makes a flowing trine with Jupiter in Gemini (exact at 11:27pm EST) helping us to feel optimistic and/or lucky.  This is an ideal time to be with friends or to work with groups of people.  It is also beneficial for spirituality/religion, higher education, horses, law/legal matters, advertising, sales, and publishing.

(Tuesday 9/18/12)-  I will be doing Astrological Readings at Spirit Dancer today between 3-6pm (I take my last reading at 5:30pm).  This is a great opportunity to get an introductory reading from me at a discount-$30 ½ hr.  They are located at 125 S. Winooski Ave in Burlington, VT (across from the fire station).  Walk-ins are welcome or you can call me for a time.  The store’s number is 802-660-8060.

The (dwarf) “planet”, Pluto in Capricorn going Direct today (exact at 1:07am EST)!!  Pluto is generally Retrograde for 160 days and is stationary about 16 days before and 16 days after retrogradation.  It has been Retrograde since 4/10/12.  As you may remember, Pluto went into the sign of Capricorn at the end of November 2008 where it will reside for the next 24 years.  Pluto is not a light-n-fluffy type of “planet”.  Pluto (ruling “planet” of Scorpio) rules over: secrets, obsessions, adoption, power, transformation, forcefulness, intensity, restructuring, destruction, anarchy, sexual influences, and detective work.  It’s associated with reproductive organs, rectum, obsessive behavior, prostate gland (root-chakra issues) and allergies.  Pluto has been associated with Phoenix Rising, death/rebirth, etc.  Powerful stuff!  Pluto also rules over world leadership on a global level (not just the US), terrorism, nuclear-atomic energy, and bankruptcy.  Capricorn rules over business endeavors, establishment, and structures.  Many CEO’s and heads of companies were affected by this transition along with many people facing bankruptcy/foreclosure.  Retrogrades are a time for reflection.  (Retrograde meaning:  As all planets orbit around one another, they do so at different rates.  Long ago Astronomers/Astrologers believed that the planets seemed to slow down and eventually reverse their orbit.  This in fact, is an optical illusion caused by different orbit speeds, when viewed from Earth.  This process is called a Retrograde in Astrology.  In interpretation it means that the planet is somewhat weakened and the energies are harder to access.)  We should now be able to make forward progress in these areas.  Wherever Pluto falls within your chart, will show where the transformation will take place on a personal level.  Just remember, this time of transition/reflection was necessary.  I use the analogy of a forest fire, out of the destruction comes nutrient rich soil and new growth……

In the morning, the Moon forms its monthly conjunction with Saturn (R) both in Libra (exact at 7:30am EST).  This is an all work no play transit.  Best to concentrate on: work, organization, BALANCE, joint enterprises, goal setting, and details.  This would also be an ideal time to start a new health or exercise regime.  Build foundations in relationships.  Sometimes this can give us a feeling of loneliness or isolation (or even the blues).  This will be the start of a 3+ hour long void-of-course Moon cycle that will last until it transitions into the Scorpio.  When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet, before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”.  It is best to not do anything new during these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have delays.  The Moon will transition into Scorpio (exact at 10:46am EST).  Favorable Scorpio Moon activities are: anything related to research, occult, detective work, self discovery, digging below the surface (both figural & literal), passion, mysteries, secrets, etc.  Things that are not favored or exacerbated during the Moon in Scorpio are: jealousy, anger, intensity, and surgery (it can delay healing time).  These will be themes over the next 2 ½ days.

In the afternoon, the Moon in Scorpio will form a flowing trine to Neptune (R) in Pisces (exact at 12:33pm EST) causing our imagination/creativity to soar.  This transit is also beneficial for daydreaming, idealism, intuition, romance, music, poetry, abstract ideas, mysticism, etc.  It is possible to be more charming (or to meet charming people) around this transit.  (I wouldn’t make a big decision around this time).  Next, the Moon in Scorpio will make a supportive sextile to Pluto (R) in Capricorn (exact at 10:16pm EST).  This will be a favorable time to look below the surface and have in-depth conversations or counseling.  This is a time that we could be feeling passionate or intense.  This transit will amplify the Scorpio Lunar traits.  Just after, the Moon in Scorpio forms an annoying quincunx with Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 10:17pm EST).  This is a time where someone around you may challenge tradition.  You may also want to buck the system.  An unexpected event or surprise could catch you off-guard.  If you are sleeping during this time, it may cause disruption in sleep or vivid dreams.

(Wednesday 9/19/12)-  Here we go. The Uranus/Pluto square will be at its height today and the Moon will be residing in Scorpio. Talk about intensity?  Early in the morning, Uranus (R) in Aries will form a difficult square with Pluto in Capricorn (exact at 1:57am EST).  This astrological transit will be at its height today but certainly will be felt for many weeks to come. You may have heard a lot about the Uranus/Pluto square. It will be the most intense this year on June 24th and September 19th of 2012. However, this jarring astrological transit will be in the background throughout all of 2012-2015.  The last time Uranus/Pluto formed a series of troubling squares was in the early 1930s around the time of the Great Depression and when Hitler was at the height of his power. These are certainly interesting times that we live in!  Uranus’ nickname is "The Great Awakener" and Pluto's is "The Great Transformer".  These are very powerful astrological energies at play here. This square will come to a height seven different times between 2012-2015. The theme during this time-frame will be tearing down and rebuilding. It is no surprise to me that we are experiencing heightened reports in the news of violence especially in the Middle East. There's going to be a great need for damage control in order for these energies to work themselves out. Nobody is willing to bend during this timeframe. As I mentioned in this Blog entry on Tuesday when Pluto turned Direct, Pluto's energy can be very much like a forest fire wiping everything out in its path. This energy is going to be somewhat jarring and could even make us feel like the rug has been pulled out from under our feet.  Uranus’ energy can be shocking, disruptive, and surprising.  It does depend where Uranus/Pluto falls within your personal chart in order to know how these energies will affect you on a personal level.  Aries, Capricorns, Scorpios, Cancers, Libras and Aquarians may experience this more strongly especially if they were born in the early degrees of their sign.  Then, the Moon in Scorpio will square Venus in Leo (exact at 10:29am EST).  Although we will have a drive to be with others around this time, it would be best to avoid heavy conversations pertaining to love.  Sometimes the object of our affections is just out of reach (or otherwise detained) around this transit.  The is not a good time to go shopping or work on beautification because what we think looks good now may seem like a bad idea at a later time.

In the afternoon, the Moon in Scorpio will quincunx Jupiter in Gemini (exact at 1:17pm EST).  This is a time where you could feel disconnected from the group.  Someone could challenge your beliefs around this time.  Our optimism or self-confidence may be a little low.  This is not a time to rely on luck.  Don’t worry, this will be temporary!  Lastly,  the Moon will form its monthly conjunction with Mars both in Scorpio (exact at 4:33pm EST).  As with most Mars transits, I usually will recommend some form of physical exercise (yes, that includes gardening, working on the car, housework, etc.).  This can increase physical vitality & health (and passion too).  It is important to properly channel the excess energy; otherwise arguments and nitpicking could result.

(Thursday 9/20/12)-  Again, a very interesting astrological day. Mercury will now get involved with the Uranus/Pluto square adding communication and travel into the mix. Use your words very wisely around this time because they are going to have greater impact and could potentially make or break a situation.  In the morning, there will be the start of a 3+ hour void-of-course Moon cycle (exact act 9:11am EST) that will last until the afternoon when the Moon transitions into Sagittarius.

In the afternoon, the Moon transitions into adventurous Sagittarius (exact at 12:34pm EST).  When the Moon makes no major planetary aspects to another planet, before it switches into the next sign, is call “void of course”.  It is best to not do anything new during these times because it has a decreased chance of working or will have delays.  It is said in Astrology that the Lunar transition between Scorpio and Sagittarius is the most stressful of all the Moon transition.  So use caution around this time and allow for (minor) setbacks.  Activities that are favored during Moon in Sagittarius are: sports, horseback riding, outdoors/nature, spiritual aspirations, higher consciousness, honesty/bluntness, law/legal, higher learning, education, travel (especially international), and getting out to meet people.  It is best to avoid taking too strong of a stance and not being open to others opinions, as people will usually defend their beliefs rigorously at this time.  These themes will be prevalent for the next 2 ½ days.  Then, the Sun in Virgo forms a positive semi-sextile with Saturn in Libra (exact at 4:51pm EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  This transit will have a mildly grounding effect (which we could use right about now).  Benefits work and discipline.  Best to concentrate on: work, organization, connecting with nature in general especially soil, woods, & forestry, and details.  Assisting the elderly or an aging relative is also favorable.  Then, Mercury in Libra will make its annual opposition with Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 6:23pm EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  These two planets are sort-of the “live wires” of the zodiac.  Oppositions in astrology are considered to be stressful and this one won’t be any different.  People with ADD, hyper activity, anxiety, nervous conditions, etc., may have difficulty around this time.  We may get ideas or sudden insights, but we may not be grounded enough to stop and think them through.  There could be sudden changes in our plans, travel snafus, and issues surrounding technology.  FLEXIBITY is the key word for today.  Just after, Mercury in Libra will form an uncomfortable square with intense Pluto in Capricorn (exact at 7:21pm EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  It may be harder to access deeper thoughts around this time.  This is actually a better time for superficial activities.  Keep things light!  Not a good time to do research or to “dig below the surface”.  Another scenario is that outside influences could affect you and you may need to change how you think about a situation.  Adjustment (on your part) may be needed to come out on the winning end.  Verbal sparring or debates could end in disastrous results.  Others won’t want to back down right now.  Just go with the flow right now.  Lastly, we and the day on a high note when Venus in Leo will form a beneficial sextile to Jupiter in Gemini (exact at 11:45pm EST).  Remember, this is a planetary transit and its effects will be felt much longer than a Moon transit.  I have to admit, this is one of my favorite transits.  This will bring luck/opportunity with both love and finances!  This will be beneficial for group gatherings and social events too.  If I were a betting woman (which I am), this would be a good time to buy a lottery ticket.  (Sorry, but I am not responsible for any losses nor am I condoning gambling-LOL).  Venus transits encourage us to get outside and be close to nature, enjoy art, and admire beauty in all its splendid forms.

(Friday 9/21/12)-  UN International Day of Peace.  Finally, a little bit of a break from the astrological intensity of the last two days. Certainly we may still be experiencing the energy from those transits but it least we have the support of Lunar energy today.  This is a good time to remind you that Moon transits are shorter in duration than Planetary transits.  It starts just after midnight, when the Moon in Sagittarius will form a flowing trine with Uranus (R) in Aries (exact at 12:06am EST) helping us to step up to the plate and do the right thing, even though it may be somewhat unconventional.  We could get sudden revelations or ideas, so write them down!

Technology (like computers), inventing, New Age ideologies, and friendships are favored around this transit.   This could cause disturbed dreams and/or sleep (possibly inspirational or vivid dreams).  Just after, the Moon in Sagittarius will form a positive sextile to Mercury in Libra (exact at 12:53am EST).  This will make us want to reach out to friends and family to chat.  This transit helps with the flow of communication.  It will be easier to express how we feel around this transit.
In the afternoon, the Moon in Sagittarius makes a stressful opposition with Jupiter in Gemini (exact at 3:41pm EST).  Sometimes this can zap our self-confidence.  Conversely, we could also feel a little too confident and over state our abilities (possibly over promising).  Just remember you won’t always feel this way and there are only so many hours in a day….it is OK to say no!  Lastly, the Moon in Sagittarius forms a flowing trine with Venus in Leo (exact at 5:00pm EST).  You could find your thoughts with friends or loved ones.  It is possible to receive a compliment on how you look.  Love, beauty, art, creativity, and aesthetics will be favored (and because of this reason, shopping too).  Pamper yourself!

(Saturday 9/22/12)-     Happy Birthday Libra & Happy Fall Equinox!!  The Sun will transition into diplomatic Libra (exact at 10:49am EST).  When the Sun transitions into Libra, this is the end of the Summer and transition into Autumn.  The leaves start to change, the night air becomes crisp, and we begin to see pumpkins on people’s doorsteps.  To celebrate the Fall Equinox I will typically do a space clearing ceremony which includes burning white sage. Since Libra primarily rules over kidneys, it's an important time to remember to drink lots of water and clear liquids.  Bringing fresh flowers into the home is very beneficial including daisies, geraniums, roses and asters (all Libra flowers).  If you are unable to find fresh flowers you could also use essential oils via aromatherapy such as eucalyptus, geranium, chamomile (and in tea form), spearmint, and vanilla.

Words and phrases to describe the Sun in Libra are: “I Balance!”, Cardinal/Air, fairness, beauty (did I say Beauty?), partnership, aesthetics, harmony, indecision, dependence, fickle, and gracious.  Libras make great judges because they are often able to see both sides.  Creativity in your life! Its physical associations are the kidneys, lumbar area of the back, buttocks and adrenal glands.  Its metal is Copper and Stones are: Quartz, Marble, Peridot, Lapis Lazuli, Opal, and Rose Quartz.  Under the Sun’s influence we will become more relationship oriented, diplomatic, and fair.  Libra’s generally hate to be alone, and do much better if they are in a relationship or if they live with someone else (it does not have to have romantic ties).  However, Libra is famous for its indecision they will often vacillate for a long time before finally making a decision.  This can cause analysis-paralysis!  Libra’s can drive people crazy by arguing both sides within one discussion.  They don’t enjoy confrontation and are often guilty of telling small white lies to avoid it.  Venus is the native ruler of Libra, so they often have a deep appreciation for love, art, and beauty.  Some famous Libra’s include:  Johnny Carson, Matt Damon, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Sarah Ferguson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Barbara Walters, Avril Lavigne, John Lennon, Will Smith, Heather Locklear, Sting, Emily Post (Authority on etiquette), Usher, Julie Andrews, Gwyneth Paltrow, Christopher Reeve, Susan Sarandon, Alicia Silverstone, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Kate Winslet, Yo Yo Ma, Simon Cowell, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

In the afternoon, the Moon in Sagittarius will form a positive sextile to Saturn in Libra (exact at 12:45pm EST).  Time to tap into our inner discipline, goal setting, organization and attention to details.  We may want to make long term plans in our close relationships.  This will also be the beginning of a short 2+ hour void of course cycle that will last until the Moon transitions into hardworking Capricorn (exact at 3:20pm EST).  Themes that will be prevalent over the next 2 ½ days are: business endeavors, discipline, work, goal setting, drive, public ambition, and tradition.  Try to avoid: workaholic tendencies, coldness, and using people for personal gain. Next, the Sun in Libra will form an uncomfortable square with the Moon in Capricorn (exact at 3:41pm EST).  We may experience some tension between friends or loved ones.  This won’t be conducive to feeling very supported.  Sometimes this transit brings (minor) squabbles.  Lastly the Moon in Capricorn forming a positive sextile to Neptune (R) in Pisces (exact at 5:02pm EST) causing our imagination/creativity to soar.  This transit is also beneficial for daydreaming, idealism, intuition, romance, music, poetry, abstract ideas, mysticism, etc.  It is possible to be more charming around this transit.  Anyone have rose-colored glasses?

Next week: there will be a Full Moon in Aries Saturday (9/29)!

The above transits are often felt collectively but you would need to know where within your chart that they would fall.  As always, I am available for a professional astrological reading.  I now have a variety of charts to choose from (relationship, life path, time-line, etc).  I can do readings in-person, Skype, or over the phone.  Or if you’re not into having a reading, I can just supply a chart.  Please feel free to contact me for more information!  Have a great week!  Bye for now……
